John Sanders, the acting Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection is resigning effective July 5 after backlash.

The New York Times reported that Mr. Sanders is stepping down amid media backlash over the treatment of detained illegals at the southern border.

GOOGLE EXECS PANIC! Go Into Hiding – Delete Social Media Accounts After James O’Keefe’s Latest Exposé

James O’Keefe and Project Veritas released alarming new undercover video, leaked documents, and testimony from a Google insider revealing the tech giant’s plans to meddle in US politics and “prevent a Trump situation in 2020.”

Gaurav Gite, the Google engineer revealing the tech giant’s actions to manipulate its algorithms based on its own definition of “fairness,” has deleted his Facebook page.

Huawei dominates global race to 5G despite pressure from Washington

Chinese telecom giant Huawei has secured 50 5G contracts outside the domestic market, according to the company’s senior executive Ding Yun.

That’s an almost 50 percent gain from the number of contracts reported in February, the executive told a summit on Tuesday ahead of the launch of MWC19 Shanghai (the largest industry annual event in Asia).

“Huawei has been doing fine, we have to make sure the continuity of our business, not by relying on inventory, but by investing in our core technologies ranging from chipsets to modules to the operating system,” Ding said as quoted by the Global Times newspaper.

He added that, “Currently, two-thirds of global existing 5G networks are powered by Huawei technologies.”

The company has just helped to launch the 5G commercial network in Saudi Arabia, Huawei’s exec said.

The Shenzhen-based firm has been accused by the United States of spying for the Chinese government. It was barred from doing business with American companies which supply Huawei with necessary parts and technology.

Since last year, the Trump administration has been pressing allies to ban Huawei from 5G rollouts. Some countries like Australia and Japan have barred Huawei, while others, including India, are yet to take a decision on whether to permit its 5G rollouts. The UK and Spain have already launched 5G commercial networks empowered by Huawei base stations.

Last year, the world’s leading telecommunications solution provider Huawei made the world's first 5G call and launched the first 5G terminal device.

‘Dialogue at gunpoint’: Bolton says Iran’s ‘silence’ is DEAFENING while it’s actually pretty vocal

US National Security Advisor John Bolton has said that defiant Iran stays silent over meaningful talks with Washington, when, in fact, Tehran repeatedly argued that a barrage of threats and sanctions has made talks impossible.

Bolton blamed Iran for avoiding dialogue with the US during his visit to Jerusalem on Tuesday.

As we speak, American diplomatic representatives are surging across the Middle East, seeking a path to peace. In response, Iran’s silence has been deafening.

The official insisted that Washington “has held the door open for real negotiations,” and all Iran needs to do is to “walk through that open door.” Bolton explained that by doing so Iran must fulfill a laundry list of demands put forward by the US, including the one to “completely and verifiably” eliminate its “nuclear weapons program” and end “malignant behavior worldwide.”

Iran, meanwhile, has been anything but silent about the prospect of negotiating with the US. The country had consistently maintained that it is ready to talk if Washington refrains from issuing threats and slapping new sanctions on Tehran.

Iran stands ready for dialogue, given that it goes on “equal footing and mutual respect,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in January. The minister often blamed Bolton and other foreign policy hardliners at the White House for pushing President Donald Trump from peaceful solutions towards a more bellicose stance.

The Islamic Republic also made it clear that meaningful talks cannot go in hand with the Trump administration’s strategy of applying “maximum pressure” on Iran. On Monday, the US announced plans to blacklist Zarif along with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in retaliation to Iran downing a US drone it claims violated its airspace last week. Tehran responded by saying that sanctions against the nation’s top leadership effectively close “the path of diplomacy” and do not create the right atmosphere for talks.

German lawmakers move to enact three-year prison term for burning the EU Flag

In the near future, under newly proposed laws in Germany, purposefully damaging “the symbols of the European Union” could result in a fine or a prison term of up three years.

German lawmakers in Saxony have moved to pass fresh legislation which seeks to “to take firm and effective action against those whose aim is to disparage the fundamental values of the European Union” by way of attacking “the reputation of the symbols of the European Union”, the German regional newspaper Saabrücker Zeitung reports.

If approved by the German parliament, the law would make rendering the EU flag – a circle of twelve five-pointed gold stars laid over a blue background – either “removed, destroyed, damaged, unusable or unrecognizable” a criminal offense which is punishable by a fine or a three-year jail sentence.

Proponents of the newly proposed law claim that while “the right to objective or legitimate criticism” will continue to be protected, the EU flag represents “a commandment of self-esteem” which Germany, as one of the founding members of the supranational organization, seeks to “protect against malicious contempt”.

The law also seeks to guard against any disparaging of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy – a song from the final movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony – which has appropriated to serve as the organizational anthem of the Council of Europe and the European Union.

The new legislative proposal comes on the heels of a similar move made by the widely despised arch globalist Emmanuel Macron, which made the display of the EU flag mandatory inside all of France’s classrooms at both public and private academic institutions, earlier in this year, according to a Euronews report.

National populist leader Marine Le Pen – who recently called on Macron to step down from his post after he and his centrist party were rejected by the French people in last month’s EU elections – has criticized his efforts to “impose this flag in the schools of our children,” as she put it.

Prominent figures on France’s populist left have also been critical of the new law.

Michel Larive, a member of the democratic socialist, left-wing populist party La France Insoumise (Unbowed France), complained that EU flags were already present outside of schools, and this should be enough to show “respect for the homeland without veering towards nationalism”.

Former German Intelligence Boss Demands Investigation into Merkel’s Migrant Crisis Policy

Former German domestic intelligence head Hans-Georg Maassen has called for a parliamentary inquiry into Chancellor Angela Merkel’s 2015 migration policy.

The former president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) said that due to the significant consequences of mass migration in Germany today and going forward, those who made the policies in 2015 must be held to account for any mistakes made, Nordkurier reports.

“If you’ve made a mistake, then you have to stand by it, even as part of a committee of inquiry,” Maassen told the paper.

He is not the first to call for such an inquiry. Both the libertarian Free Democrats (FDP) and the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) have made similar requests but both have been rejected.

Along with rooting out those who may have made mistakes during the height of the migrant crisis, Maassen said that an inquiry could also put conspiracy theories to rest and possibly cool the social climate in the country as well.

In order for a parliamentary inquiry to take place, around a quarter of the German parliament, the Bundestag, would need to vote in favour of the motion.

Mr Maassen became well-known across Germany after expressing doubt over Germans “hunting” migrants during a riot that occurred following the killing of a local man in Chemnitz by an asylum seeker.

His comments led to a backlash from the left and his eventual removal as head of the BfV by Chancellor Merkel.

He was set up to take an advisory role in the Interior Ministry following his removal but was then forced into early retirement after calling out “radical left forces” in the Social Democrat party, the coalition partner of Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

Earlier this year in Hungary, Maassen spoke out against Merkel’s migrant policy telling Hungarian media: “Integration is possible if you create the legal framework and also get people to integrate or be integrated. Integration can not only be ordered, but integration must also be demanded.”

“My concern is that there is integration, but not integration into German society, but into Arab society, the Salafist society or the Turkish society in Germany, so that we have parallel societies. And from my point of view, that has to be prevented with all our might,” he said.

NATO Tells Russia To Destroy New Missile Or Face Consequences

NATO defense ministers will hold talks on Wednesday over their next move if Russia doesn't destroy a new missile system that could allow for short-notice nuclear attacks throughout Europe, which the United States has said violates the 1987 Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), according to Reuters.

"We call on Russia to take the responsible path, but we have seen no indication that Russia intends to do so," said Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at a news conference, adding "We will need to respond."

While he declined to go into further detail, diplomats have said their defense ministers will consider allowing more flights over Europe by nuclear-capable US warplanes, as well as more military training and the strategic repositioning of US sea-based missiles.

Another military service member securing border found dead in southern AZ

AJO, AZ (AP) — Authorities say another military service member assigned to help secure the U.S.-Mexico border has died in southern Arizona.

Officials at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, said in a statement that the military service member with the Southwest Border Support Mission was found dead Sunday near Ajo, Arizona.

They say the incident is under investigation, but foul play isn’t suspected.

The name of the military service member wasn’t released.

It’s the second such death this month.

The base previously announced the June 1 death of another military service member near Nogales, Arizona, who also was assigned to the Southwest Border Support Mission.

Base officials said foul play wasn’t suspected in that death either.

President Donald Trump assigned several thousand troops to the southwest border in recent months to support the U.S. Border Patrol.

State Dept Looks to Create Anti-Iran Coalition

Trump wants other countries to protect their own ships

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says he intends to build a global coalition against Iran, starting Sunday with his visit to Saudi Arabia. This appears to be the latest push since the collapse of an attempt to build an “Arab NATO,” though Pompeo intends to recruit nations from Europe and Asia as well.

While Pompeo emphasized the new coalition being anti-Iran, other State Department officials described it as primarily about maritime security. They said it would be intended to patrol and protect shipping lanes.

This reflects the conflicting interests of Pompeo and President Trump. Pompeo is very keen to get something started against Iran, and remains among the main advocates for that. Trump, on the other hand, says he wants other nations to protect their own ships instead of expecting the US to do it, this isn’t necessarily an Iran-centric issue.

Trump in particular directed these comments to Japan and China, both of whom get most of their oil from through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said those nations should worry about protecting their ships, and that the US doesn’t need to be there, as such a large energy producer.

Trump has long been emphasizing the idea that other nations need to stop expecting the US to provide them free security across the world, and this is a continuation of that. It also underscores that Trump doesn’t see worries about shipping security as a justification for war with Iran.

It isn’t clear that shipping in the Strait of Hormuz is really all that dangerous, of course. A new recent incidents in the vicinity have done some damage to ships, but not damaged any cargo.

President Trump did the smart thing last week by calling off a US airstrike on Iran over the downing of an American spy drone near or within Iranian territorial waters. According to press reports, the president over-ruled virtually all his top advisors – Bolton, Pompeo, and Haspel – who all wanted another undeclared and unauthorized US war in the Middle East.

Is Iran really the aggressive one? When you unilaterally pull out of an agreement that was reducing tensions and boosting trade; when you begin applying sanctions designed to completely destroy another country’s economy; when you position military assets right offshore of that country; when you threaten to destroy that country on a regular basis, calling it a campaign of “maximum pressure,” to me it seems a stretch to play the victim when that country retaliates by shooting a spy plane that is likely looking for the best way to attack.

Even if the US spy plane was not in Iranian airspace – but it increasingly looks like it was – it was just another part of an already-existing US war on Iran. Yes, sanctions are a form of war, not a substitute for war.

The media are also a big part of the problem. The same media that praised Trump as “presidential” when he fired rockets into Syria on what turned out to be false claims that Assad gassed his own people, has been attacking Trump for not bombing Iran. From Left to Right – with one important exception – the major media is all braying for war. Why? They can afford to cheer death and destruction because they will not suffer the agony of war. Networks will benefit by capturing big ratings and big money and new media stars will be born.

President Trump has said he does not want to be the one to start a new war in the Middle East. He seemed to prove that by avoiding the urgings of his closest advisors to attack Iran. It is hard to imagine a president having top advisors who work at cross-purposes to him, planning and plotting their wars – and maybe more – behind his back. Even Trump seems to recognize that his national security advisor is not really serving his administration well. Over the weekend he said in an interview, “John Bolton is absolutely a hawk. If it was up to him he’d take on the whole world at one time, okay?”

I think when you have a national security advisor who wants to fight the whole world at once, you have a problem. Does anyone believe we will be more secure after spending a few trillion more dollars and making a few hundred million more enemies? What does “victory” even look like?

Facebook to give French courts data on hate speech suspects, says minister

Facebook has agreed to give French courts the identification data of users suspected of spreading hate speech on the platform, according to a French minister, in what is being described as a world first.

France’s minister for digital affairs and former top advisor to President Emmanuel Macron, Cedric O, confirmed the agreement on Tuesday, but suggested the courtesy would not be extended to other nations.

“This is huge news, it means that the judicial process will be able to run normally,” O told Reuters. “It’s really very important, they’re only doing it for France.”

The deal between the world’s largest social media network and France came after a series of meetings between Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Macron.

The social network had already been giving French authorities IP addresses and identifying data of suspected terrorists after judges demanded their cooperation, but this is the first time the agreement has extended to hate speech.

Popular FDA-approved heart pill found to contain deadly, cancer-causing chemical

An online pharmacy company known as Valisure, which is currently licensed to operate in 37 states, has issued an urgent warning to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about a cancer-causing chemical found in valsartan, a popular blood pressure pharmaceutical manufactured by Novartis and several other drug companies.

As it turns out, valsartan contains high levels of dimethylformamide, or DMF, which the World Health Organization (WHO) classifies as a “probable human carcinogen” – just like glyphosate, the primary active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide.

For the safety of patients, Valisure is calling on the FDA to immediately recall valsartan and perform an in-depth review of the drug, as the FDA currently allows up to 8,800,000 nanograms of DMF to be present in valsartan. Valisure is petitioning the federal agency to reduce this “acceptable” threshold to 1,000 nanograms – or 1/8,800th the current level.

After testing the drug itself with its own high-tech equipment, Valisure identified the presence of DMF in valsartan drugs produced by five different drug companies. This means that the tens of millions of Americans who currently take this FDA-approved blood pressure medication have a greatly increased risk of developing cancer – and Valisure wants to protect them from this.

But the FDA, as usual, couldn’t care less about patient safety. In an announcement, the federal agency said it will “evaluate” Valisure’s findings and eventually issue a response – but in the meantime, FDA spokesman Jeremy Kahn says that all valsartan users should continue taking the drug as usual no matter what, even if it ends up being recalled.

Several other blood pressure drugs also contain cancer-causing DMF, it turns out. As we recently reported, both losartan and irbesartan have been found to be tainted with DMF, yet continue to be prescribed with the FDA’s blessing to untold millions of patients.

It’s a criminal racket that’s generating tens of billions of dollars for the Big Pharma cartel, all at the expense of patient health. In fact, the pharma drug lords prefer that their drugs contain cancer-causing chemicals like DMF, because this means that they then have more cancer patients to “treat” later on down the road with high-cost chemotherapy and radiation.

Hackers Hit Global Telcos, Steal Large Amounts of Personal and Corporate Data

Hackers have broken into the systems of more than a dozen global telecom companies and taken large amounts of personal and corporate data, researchers from a cyber security company said on Tuesday, identifying links to previous Chinese cyber-espionage campaigns.

Investigators at U.S.-Israeli cybersecurity firm Cybereason said the attackers compromised companies in more than 30 countries and aimed to gather information on individuals in government, law enforcement and politics.

The hackers also used tools linked to other attacks attributed to Beijing by the United States and its Western allies, said Lior Div, chief executive of Cybereason.

“For this level of sophistication, it’s not a criminal group. It is a government that has capabilities that can do this kind of attack,” he told Reuters.

China has repeatedly denied involvement in any hacking activity.

Cybereason declined to name the companies affected or the countries they operate in, but people familiar with Chinese hacking operations said Beijing was increasingly targeting telcos in Western Europe.

Western countries have moved to call out Beijing for its actions in cyberspace, warning that Chinese hackers have compromised companies and government agencies around the world to steal valuable commercial secrets and personal data for espionage purposes.

Div said this latest campaign, which his team uncovered over the last nine months, compromised the internal IT network of some of those targeted, allowing the attackers to customize the infrastructure and steal vast amounts of data.

In some instances, they managed to compromise a target’s entire active directory, giving them access to every username and password in the organization. They also got hold of personal data, including billing information and call records, Cybereason said in a blog post.

“They built a perfect espionage environment,” said Div, a former commander in Israel’s military intelligence unit 8200. “They could grab information as they please on the targets that they are interested in.”

Cybereason said multiple tools used by the attackers had previously been used by a Chinese hacking group known as APT10.

The United States indicted two alleged members of APT10 in December and joined other Western countries in denouncing the group’s attacks on global technology service providers to steal intellectual property from their clients.

Alphabet Says It Won't Sell Personal Data It Collects In Smart City

Alphabet’s smart city unit Sidewalk Labs released its 1,500-plus page master plan to develop 153-acres of Toronto’s eastern waterfront district.

The proposal is designed to provide affordable housing, alleviate traffic, and fight climate change and inequality.

Sidewalk Labs CEO Dan Doctoroff pledged not to sell people’s personal data collected by the various services operating in the “smart city.”

The proposal says Sidewalk Toronto will add C$14.2 billion annually to Canada’s GDP, C$4.3 billion in tax revenue, and create 44,000 permanent jobs by 2040.

A high-tech smart city project proposed along Toronto’s waterfront by Alphabet unit Sidewalk Labs has pledged not to sell advertisers the personal data collected to serve residents and visitors, as part of a 1,500-page master plan released on Monday.

The proposal in Canada’s biggest city is designed to provide affordable housing, alleviate traffic and fight climate change and inequality. But privacy advocates have expressed concerns.

The C$3.9 billion development proposes features such as a thermal grid to lower power use, traffic signals that use data to prioritize pedestrians who need more time to cross roads and a self-financing light rail transit that connects the Greater Toronto Area to the waterfront, among other features.

Privacy activists have insisted that Sidewalk Labs must guarantee that personal data used to run the project remains anonymous.

CEO Dan Doctoroff said at a press conference on Monday that Sidewalk Labs will not disclose personal information to third parties without explicit consent and will not sell personal information.

Sidewalk’s proposed development encompasses 12 acres of land called the Quayside, and the River District, a 153-acre area that Sidewalk Labs plans tor develop.

The smart city project sparked controversy with concerns over sensors, which critics say will lead to excessive surveillance and unethical data collection.

Likud’s statement came after Channel 12 news reported that Edelstein had launched a “substantial” push to revoke the new national vote through Knesset legislation.

The network reported earlier that Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit told politicians that calling off the vote isn’t legally possible, but Channel 12 later said a way may have been found to do so legally.

According to the purported plan, the Knesset Presidium would be convened to cancel parliament’s current hiatus. A new law would then be introduced that enables parliament to cancel elections.

However, such legislation would require broad support of at least 80 MKs, according to Channel 12.

A previous report said the move could be aimed at forming a unity government that includes both Netanyahu’s Likud party and its main rival, Blue and White.

In a statement Tuesday evening, Likud said Netanyahu “has great respect for… Edelstein and will consider his proposal in the coming days.”

Meanwhile, Blue and White rejected the move, calling it “more spin” from a prime minister who himself was responsible for the second snap elections within months — the first such event in the nation’s history.
