2/ Much of the KH-9 imagery, including these historical images from June 1979, is available to the public through the @USGS and @USNatArchives.
3/The NRO operated Hexagon from 1973-80 to collect imagery used for map making & target geolocation. With the creation of the Civil Applications Committee in 1975, this data became available to organizations such as @EPA, @fema, @Interior & others for civil & scientific purposes.
