I understand the flat earth debate, what I don't understand is the result? Why is the earth being flat a big deal? Lets say for sake of argument it's flat. Why hide it from us? How do other planets appear round, why would be alone in this round shape? Or is space an illusion? Then what did they do in the 1700's when people looked up into space and the technology wasn't available to make illusions?
