Just a note re: increase in earthquake frequency.

If natural, the increase in earthquake frequency can be a sign that more powerful seismic activities/earthquakes are coming.

If artificially generated, clusters of smaller earthquakes could be used as a means of relieving the build up of stresses to lead to major earthquakes.
