Hussein is strictly a Manchurian Candidate MKUltra puppet who got in the way, and his popularity made him hard to ignore during primary season, so HRC begrudgingly stepped aside to let him have his turn. I believe Hussein would've relinquished most of his behind-the-scenes power if HRC took over since they bow to many of the same masters.
