Gawd. Been doing genealogy research for 25 years, and have seen every crazy story under the sun, but this one is something else.

"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine"

Nothing is too improbable with genealogy.

You got me wound up now: his real name wasn't even Lewis Carroll. It was Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. This insane Jean Carroll person is just making a bad joke.

(sigh) No, Jean Carroll is NOT Alice.

She's a batshit crazy old hippie.

"Lewis Carroll" was just a NOM DE PLUME.

Charles Lutwidge Dodson was the REAL NAME of the author of Alice Through The Looking Glass.

Everybody relax and don't spin your wheels over this.

She is NOT RELATED to the author Charles Lutwidge Dodsworth.

She's a crazy old hippie who dyed her poodle blue.

Period.

Stop wasting bread with this slide.

I'm about to hit Ancestry and FamilySearch to prove it to you gullible anons. BBL.

Thank you.

Pics related are further documentation, incl 1965 Indiana Univ-Bloomington yearbook.

And I just found another marriage that Wikipedia doesn't know about… Stephen W. Byers, who listed his occupation as "writer", from Chicago, married Sept 19, 1969 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Jean_Carroll

Carroll was born in Detroit, Michigan, and nicknamed "Betty Jean" from an early age. Her father, Thomas F. "Tom" Carroll, Jr., was an inventor, and her mother, Betty (McKinney) Carroll, was a retired Allen County, Indiana politician.[6][7] Carroll was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended Indiana University, where she was a Pi Beta Phi and a cheerleader and was crowned Miss Indiana University.[8]

Census reports from 1920 & 1930 showing father Thomas Carroll born in Ohio. His grandparents' birthplaces are also in Ohio.

No, no, NO, not notable.

Not Lewis Carroll's niece. There WAS no Lewis Carroll. It was a pen name.

This is a damn slide, and a poor one.

Shills, go bother a group of people which doesn't include genealogists armed with subscription-based genealogy programs, and the expertise to use them.
