Richard Childress, North Carolina entrepreneur, racer, vintner resigned from the NRA board of directors last month with 3 years left on his term. Corruption in the NRA, specifically the NRA support of gun control legislation because it increased donations and memberships, has long been rumored and appear poised to gut the organization. Can the NRA clean out the infection or are its days numbered? I long ago let my NRA membership lapse and joined GOA and NCGR because both seemed more likely to have a favorable impact. POTUS is allied with the NRA, I think, because its members tend to vote as a bloc and his rumblings about making suppressors illegal may have been the bone he threw them for support. As long as it -remains- rumblings, I can deal with it.

They just issued a ruling (stare decisis) a couple days ago that supported precisely this capacity of an agency of the government to write their own rules so long as they remained within the law.
