Trump to push for delay of census in wake of Supreme Court ruling

President Trump on Thursday said that he is asking his administration to temporarily delay the 2020 census in light of the Supreme Court ruling blocking the citizenship status question for the time being.

"I have asked the lawyers if they can delay the Census, no matter how long, until the United States Supreme Court is given additional information from which it can make a final and decisive decision on this very critical matter," Trump tweeted.

About 15 to 20 moderate Democrats planned to vote against the rule, according to an aide

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned in a Senate floor speech Thursday that removing the ICE funding was a non-starter for his conference, and if the House passed its amendment to the Senate bill that his chamber would move to table the measure and send it back.

WASHINGTON –Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) made this statement after the Committee voted to send four bills to the Senate floor to lower the cost of prescription drugs. Graham led a hearing on prescription drug pricing in May.

“Great day for the Senate Judiciary Committee. Today we reported out four bills, and each in their own way will lower the cost of prescription drugs.

"I really appreciate my Democratic and Republican colleagues trying to find solutions to the high cost of prescription drugs. I believe today was a step forward in that endeavor.

“I look forward to taking this legislation up on the floor as soon as possible.”
