NebraskaMatTeacher, I stand with you. I’m a little more hopeful than you are because Hopium feels good. It feels a lot better than despair. What will be, will be, and I would rather feel better on the journey.
When I start feeling despair I refer back to the Bible. I’m not religious—I’m spiritual, but the Bible teachings are included in my beliefs, In the Bible, GOD WINS. Satan and evil are bound in chains for 1,000 years.
Hold your children dear. Give them extra love, and remember kids gauge love by the number of scoops of ice cream and getting to stay up an hour later on a weeknight.
Love your wife. As head of the household, try to be positive for her. Be hopeful to her so she can raise your kids in a positive atmosphere.
Be true to yourself and your God, whatever form or religion that may take. Or just follow the Golden Rule.
Don’t forget to take an extra scoop of ice cream for yourself!
