Fourth NYPD officer dies by suicide this month

The 53-year-old officer, whose identity was not disclosed, worked in the Bronx and died at his home on Long Island, a department spokeswoman said.

Kevin Preiss, 53, was a 24-year veteran of the force assigned to the 50th Precinct in the Bronx. He was married with children, NBC New York reported.

He died at his home in Nassau County on Long Island, a department spokeswoman told NBC News on Thursday.

U.S. woman sued over allegations she ran unlicensed clinic in Uganda where hundreds of kids died

An American woman is being sued over allegations that the Christian nonprofit she founded in Uganda has operated as an unlicensed medical facility and has led "to the death of hundreds of children."

Renee Bach, 29, of Bedford, Virginia, founded the nonprofit in Jinja, southern Uganda, in 2009. She has said the organization, Serving His Children, is focused on combating and treating malnutrition.
