Regardless of how badass nature may be, tripling the CO2 would cause a host of other problems.
They monkey with the climate models to exaggerate the effects of rising CO2 in an effort to spur action. "War is a racket"; and that includes the war against fissile fuels. But the greenhouse effect is indeed real. Increasing it a little would not be as apocalyptic as the Greenies scream about… But we'd still prefer to avoid altering the climate in any way. I like how it is right now.
As with most thing this polarizing, the truth is somewhere in the middle. For a dose of reality, watch this vid. It's the most honest treatment of the subject I've found.

The Germans were beat down and abused by their conquerors after WW1. Then Hitler can along, gave everyone crystal meth, and promised them an opportunity of vengeance. This is not a recipe for sober, well reasoned thinking.
