Did some follow-up on how West Coast yacht REVERIE at Alamitos Bay could have a “hailing port” designation at Opana Point, Hawaii and find that an owner may choose ANY location in the US even if it is a landlocked location, what might be called a “fictitious” hailing port. So I am finding nothing suspicious about the name chosen. The Opana Point they chose is apparently the one at Maui island. Not on Oahu island.

The weird coincidence that there is also another Opana Point at Oahu that was notorious for being the radar site of Pearl Harbor fame, and whose warnings of attack were ignored, is just that- an odd councidence.

The reason I believe the yacht owner chose the Opana Pt on Maui is because the owner(s) have a property on that island, like a mile away at Paia.

Public records also show another residence next door, a probable neighbor mail drop while they are away.

Also a couple of mail boxes there and one at Kahului harbor. The fact that the elder father is also listed as a director at California Water Company, a subsidiary of California Water Group, which also has a Hawaii Water Company is interesting but may be a reason for owning a modest residence at Paia, but it may be just a vacation getaway.

The reason being, that if the family chose Opana Point, which is really close by their home, it must have fond memories for them.

The owner bought the yacht in Taiwan, sailed it to San Diego, then did some yachting around Seattle before settling at Alamitos Bay where it has a permanent berth.

Am thinking, there was may be another Reverie in the Bahamas that pre-dates the one on West Coast per previous documentation.

Will dig on California water companies though.
