I was thinking… I wanted to adopt a child or 2 the last 15 years but as a single woman and older it became impossible especially the last 5 years. The costs were up to close to $60,000 to $100,000 international just to adopt 1 toddler or older and every year more and more countries would prohibit the USA. There was always a scandal or something to ruin it for the rest of us. Finally I gave up because it just seemed there were not enough orphaned children needing adoption, which should have been a good thing. I am beginning to think the whole international adoption industry was simply a front for these criminals and the real folks who wanted to adopt were simply not allowed unless they were part of the wealthy elite.
