How a woman so poorly informed has been elected over and over again since 1995 is a mystery. But she has been. She’s in the news yet again, this time for some inappropriate dealings with regard to the Super Bowl, which was in her home district of Houston this past February.
Federal Election Commission filings show her campaign spent almost ten thousand dollars on tickets for Super Bowl LI.

The political fallout following Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee‘s abrupt resignation on Wednesday from two key posts could extend well beyond the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and end up having major implications for the Democratic Party.
After finding herself caught in the middle of a scandal surrounding an alleged sexual assault, Lee, a 13-term congresswoman, resigned as the CBC Foundation’s chairwoman and temporarily stepped aside from her House Judiciary subcommittee chairmanship, the New York Times.

Jackson Lee stepped down in part because one of her former interns sued her and the CBC Foundation this month over allegedly being sexually assaulted in 2015 by her male supervisor at the CBC Foundation. The lawsuit claims that the congresswoman fired her in retaliation after the then-intern threatened legal action.

Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Houston) violated election laws when, on Monday, October 18, she entered into Acres Home Multiservice Community Center, walked to where the voting booths were looking for the poll watchers, greeted voters there, and then found and confronted the poll watchers before being directed to, and then asked by, the presiding judge Bernard Gurski to leave the area.
A source speaking on the condition of anonymity said that she heard people say that Sheila Jackson Lee was in the voting area. The lobby of the building was chaotic because some people were in line to vote and some people were in line for the food bank.
So the source, a poll watcher, went into the room housing the voting booths and there stood Congresswoman Lee shaking hands with voters and greeting others–clearly electioneering. The poll watcher then went to one of the clerks and asked the presiding judge to take care of it.
While this occurred, the poll watcher heard Lee loudly say to the crowd in the voting area,”I’ve heard a lot of complaints about voter intimidation by poll watchers. I am not going to allow voter intimidation.”The poll watcher started writing the incident down. Lee then went to the poll watcher and asked, ”What’s your name? Who do you represent?” . . .
