Terry McAuliffe – former Va governor - Clinton frontman - donated to Jill McCabe
McAuliffe was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, the son of Mildred Katherine Lonergan and Jack McAuliffe.[2][3] His father was a real estate agent and local Democratic politician. The family is of Irish descent
At age of 14, McAuliffe started his first business,[9] McAuliffe Driveway Maintenance, sealing driveways and parking lots. According to The Washington Post, McAuliffe has "earned millions as a banker, real estate developer, home builder, hotel owner, and internet venture capitalist."
In 1985, McAuliffe helped found the Federal City National Bank, a Washington, D.C.-based local bank.
In January 1988, when McAuliffe was thirty years old, the bank's board elected McAuliffe as chairman, making him the youngest chairman in the United States Federal Reserve Bank's charter association.
In 1997, McAuliffe invested $100,000 in Global Crossing,[12] a Bermuda-registered telecommunications company.[17] Global Crossing went public in 1998.[18] In 1999, McAuliffe sold the majority of his holding for $8.1 million.[19]
In 2009, McAuliffe founded GreenTech Automotive, a holding company, which purchased Chinese electric car company EU Auto MyCar for $20 million in May 2010.
Later that year, McAuliffe relocated GreenTech's headquarters to McLean, Virginia. GreenTech subsequently announced plans to manufacture vehicles in Mississippi
McAuliffe married Dorothy Swann, the daughter of one of his business partners, in 1988.
A pair of Florida lawyers are hosting a fundraiser for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. One of the lawyers is McAuliffe’s father-in-law.
Richard Swann will be hosting the fundraiser along with fellow Florida attorney John Morgan, according to Politico.
Swann has been a large source of money for McAuliffe’s two gubernatorial campaigns, contributing $100,000 in 2009 and already another $100,000 in 2013.
McAuliffe has been forced to help Swann out in the past. When Swann’s company went under in the early 1990’s, McAuliffe used his political connections to make sure that everybody, including himself, came out of the fiasco making money, according to the New York Times.
According to McAuliffe, his wife lives a great life as long as her credit card bills are paid in full and even if she doesn’t know how much money he has.
"She’s got a great life. Listen, her credit cards are paid and all that. She knows I do very well. But she has no idea. Myself and my accountants are the only people who know," McAuliffe told Vanity Fair.
Former President Bill Clinton and former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will both be attending the fundraiser. McAuliffe will not be in attendance.
