>I can't figure out how the sacrifices fit in though.

The child sacrifices grant them their wishes and desires. The sacrifice "pays" for the price required to grant each wish/desire.

Some things cost higher than others. The higher the price, the more children must be sacrificed.

>Why gold?

Because…

>Ancient Egyptians considered gold “the skin of the gods” – >specifically the sun god Ra – and often used it to craft objects >of spiritual significance.

>Why is this relevant?

>Q

Gods are immortal, and their skins are believed to be made of "Life Force", also known as Mana. Mana, when you look at it, supposedly shine like gold.

Since Luciferians believes they are the children of a 'fallen' god, - a fallen angel (Lucifer/Satan), they cover their skin with gold to signify the Mana, and their status as children of a 'god'.
