Came across a document where the first chapter of the "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" was incorporated in 1868, and reference to the "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children" was chartered ten years later (1878). Perhaps part of the decode lies in finding who (& connected bloodline) was responsible back then for starting it?
