A human soul navigates the bridge between places, physical, astral.
We are multi-dimensional beings with the chakras functioning in this way:
They are portals where vortexes of conscious energy flow into the physical body. The activity/behavior of the chakras is dependent upon the activity and condition of your "spirit body", which is a body of information embedded in the electromagnetic envelope that surrounds you (aura).
There are non-local entities which are conscious in nature which do not have access to these energies naturally but if they "acquire" these energies from "Us" they can use them to empower themselves and bolster their power/influence in the astral plane (Also think of the sub-conscious plane).
Various technologies are likely being employed to enhance the presence and power to project of some of these negative conscious entities.
Through meditation one can foster a strong, conscious connection to the astral body and use the powerful energies of the chakras to banish these negative thoughtforms, classically called demons, archons, watchers. Your spirit body is the jurisdiction of your soul. If you cannot find your soul, ask it to come back and pray for protection from the beings that are closer to God.
As a parasitic fungus lacks photosynthesis and is cutoff from the Sun, so too are the demons cutoff from God/Source, without a physical vessel of their own or the ability to generate their own vital energies.
