If I wanted an emoji to look exactly like me, I’d just send a photograph. But then, unlike Apple and Google, I understand that they are a symbolic shorthand, not a racist tool of oppression that ignores my identity.
On Wednesday, World Emoji Day, the two California companies revealed their expanded repertoire of “newest designs that bring even more diversity to the keyboard.”
Seventy-two new iOS emojis of couples holding hands, instead of a generic symbol. Thus, a blonde woman with a blond man, a blonde woman with a tan skinned man, a blonde woman with a light-skinned black man, a blonde woman with a dark-skinned black man, a dark-skinned black woman with a light-skinned black woman, a white man with a moustache with a white man without a moustache, and so on and on and on.
Ten new emojis of the US sign for ‘deaf’, ten for cane walkers, five ears of different shades fitted with a hearing aid.

US big tech under attack: Spain to push ahead with tax on digital firms
The global hunt on large technology firms continues, with now another country, Spain, seeking to force the companies to pay more in the markets where they operate.
The country’s acting Economy Minister Nadia Calvino told news radio network Cadena Ser that the government's “intention is to put (the tax) back on the table as soon as there is a government.”
Spain’s parliament will vote next week on acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's bid to form a new government. His Socialist party won an early general election in April but without an absolute majority.
According to Calvino, it is necessary “to find a global solution” in regards to the big tech “because it is a global problem.”

Senior policy-makers differ on future of global monetary system
The international monetary system needs fundamental reforms, senior current and former global policy-makers said in Paris today (July 16).
Speakers at a conference organised by the Banque de France on the Bretton Woods system’s 75th anniversary disagreed on what these reforms should be. There was notable disagreement on whether the International Monetary Fund’s special drawing right (SDR) could play a much greater role in the global system.

The correspondent was shocked when the women did not agree with her that President Trump was racist for not telling the angry young Socialists to leave the country if they hate it here so much.
Of course, the “Squad” Democrats believe if you correct them or disagree with them then you are racist. They said as much of their Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
But the women for Trump stood their ground and told the CNN crank they agreed with the President.
