Family of Baby Cut From Mother's Womb Given $300,000 Bill for His Medical Care
Ochoa-Lopez was nine months pregnant when she went missing from the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago on April 23. Her body was later found at an address at West 77th Place on May 15, with her unborn baby cut from her body.
It was later revealed that the baby was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn unresponsive on the same that Ochoa-Lopez went missing and that Clarisa Figueroa claimed the child was hers.
After several weeks, DNA tests eventually proved the baby was not Clarisa's and Ochoa-Lopez's body was found at the suspect's home.
Yovanny died on June 14. He had suffered severe brain injuries as a result of the oxygen he was deprived of from being ripped from his mother's womb.
Since then, the family of the baby has continued to receive medical bills totaling more than $300,000 for his time at the hospital, including some from when Clarisa Figueroa was passing the child off as her own and one dated June 3, weeks after the suspects had been arrested in connection with Ochoa-Lopez's murder.
