After Trump's recent FAILED attempt to jailbreak a rapper from my nation (Sweden), I think I'm starting to understand what his problem is.
Don't get me wrong, I like the guy in general, and I believe in Q. But I'd be lying if I didn't tell you Trump keeps making an ass of himself and looking stupid, to the point where I would swallow the media's description of him whole if it wasn't for Q.
Yes, Q makes me like Trump, whereas Trump all too often makes me cringe with his antics.
But my point here is that I'm starting to understand where he's coming from.
Trump is a businessman, and he is used to cutting deals with shady people. That's where his talent and life experience is focused. When you translate that skillset to dealing with dictators, it fucking works! No-one can wrap a dictator around his finger like Trump, it's truly a marvel to behold!
But it comes to dealing with democratic states run by the rule of law, Trump bumbles in like an elephant in a glass shop, and just makes a complete ass of himself!
The Swedish headline today is "Trump's BIZARRE words to Sweden", referring to his tweet where he attempted to butter up our prime minister with lavish praise, and asking to cut a deal to free the rapper.
I can assure you there's nothing political about how this is seen in Sweden! The media here may not be much less biased against him than the US media, but this is not one of the times they try to make him look bad for no reason, this is one of those times when everyone is honestly stunned by how an American President can be so fucking tone deaf!
You can call Kim Jong Un and flatter his ass off so he'll sign a deal. It works, because Kim Jong Un is a fucking DICTATOR, and he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
But you can not call up Stefan Löfven and do the same! No amount of buttering up is going to remove the basic fact he is the prime minister of a nation run by the rule of law, and there are things he can and can not do. Jailbreaking rappers for a new best buddy being an example of the latter.
I know Trump only does this to fish for the black vote, I know it has nothing to do with Sweden. But it makes him look incredibly bad to people who don't want the world run like it's run by the mob, both internationally and domestically. I'm not so sure he isn't losing more votes than he gains by acting like this.
