Nope! Top Gun 2 made some slight ‘changes’

 

‘Top Gun 2’ Changed Two Flags On Maverick’s Jacket – Can You Guess Which?

 

The epic pilot jacket that Tom Cruise’s Maverick character wore in the 1986 original Top Gun movie is of course back for the sequel.

 

As many 80s fans were eagerly anticipating the sequel, every shot has been over-analyzed by now, and fans immediately spotted that the Japanese and Taiwanese flag are missing from Cruise’s gear.

 

There’s a new Top Gun movie coming out. And Maverick is wearing the same leather jacket – only this time it’s Communist Party of China-approved, so the Japanese and Taiwanese flag patches are gone (screenshot on right is from the new trailer)…
