anon remembers a great story about a feared and successful commander who had never lost. in one battle he faced an opponent army camped across the river - though his forces were greater the commander waited - knowing his enemy would weaken with time - he was patient - but soon his generals became restless - he rebuffed them - repeatedly. soon the troops were restless - waiting so long, they said, was harder than battle and fatigue will set in - peak performance will diminish

but the commander would not relent - in many battles he had made difficult decisions, that had proven correct and true. he was confident of his own counsel - yet the generals still mumbled and the troops complained - all yearning for the battle.
