It's long been known that the Dems eat their own.

Idle speculation: I wonder if POTUS' end-game with elevating the squad as the face of the Democrat Party is to get the ones with any sense to destroy the squad.

Certainly there is enough evidence of criminal activity that Ilhan Omar could be arrested at any time for immigration fraud. Rashida Tlaib's own father has accused he of not living in the district she was elected to represent. And there it's a good bet that ties to terrorist organizations are there to be found.

It would be better if the Dems cleaned their own house, in this case, for both POTUS and the future of the two party system.

The squad is leading the Democratic party into oblivion. And the Feds have been laying off them (slow wheels of justice? or strategically?). The Democrat Party has the opportunity to save themselves (“Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across.” – Sun Tzu.) The question remains, Will they?
