I never watched "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" nor did my kids, but the Today link below indicates a long-term conventially straight marriage. The Wikipedia link says 'According to biographer Maxwell King, close associates said that Rogers was "absolutely faithful to his marriage vows.'[78]" Unknown whether he had other interests on the side, but don't mistake kindliness for gayness. He was trained and ordained in 1963 as a Presbyterian minister, although he started in TV in 1951 (see Wikipedia link below).

Fred and Joanne Rogers married on June 9, 1952 and had two sons, James and John. They remained together until his death in 2003 of stomach cancer.
