I had some experiences a while ago that I was reminded of by your post.
I went through a horrific time of mental oppression, psych drugging and hospitalizations. Some time after my situation started to improve I began to believe (as I once had) that God cared about me.
Jesus often asked people what they wanted. I think this question awakens the will and also shows love and respect for the person who is asked.
For a few years now I have often "felt" God asking me "What do you want?"
Along with that, a few years ago I also felt like I was being asked the related question of "What do you think?"
"What do you see?" is another question that occurred to me.
Taking these three questions together there is a path to restoring the will, the intellect and the powers of observation. I think this is the work of God in my life and it is shown in the way that Jesus interacted with his followers and people who wanted healing.
