To paraphrase a famous Shakespeare line from Hamlet……….

TO TESTIFY OR NOT TO TESTIFY….

THAT IS THE QUESTION

[[[[[[[[[[MUELLER]]]]]]]]]]

Speech: “To be, or not to be, that is the question”

BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

(from Hamlet, spoken by Hamlet)

To be, or not to be, that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

Or to take arms against a sea of troubles

And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep,

No more; and by a sleep to say we end

The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks

That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation

Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;

To sleep, perchance to dream—ay, there's the rub:

For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,

When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,

Must give us pause—there's the respect

That makes calamity of so long life.

For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,

Th'oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,

The pangs of dispriz'd love, the law's delay,

The insolence of office, and the spurns

That patient merit of th'unworthy takes,

When he himself might his quietus make

With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,

To grunt and sweat under a weary life,

But that the dread of something after death,

The undiscovere'd country, from whose bourn

No traveller returns, puzzles the will,

And makes us rather bear those ills we have

Than fly to others that we know not of?

Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,

And thus the native hue of resolution

Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,

And enterprises of great pitch and moment

With this regard their currents turn awry

And lose the name of action.

Biden Takes Cash From Hollywood Exec With History of Abuse

Chris Albrecht resigned from HBO in 2007 after multiple domestic assaults

Joe Biden's presidential campaign took money from a longtime Hollywood executive with a history of domestic assault, his most recent campaign finance disclosure shows.

Biden's campaign accepted $2,800, the maximum allowed for a primary, from former HBO chief executive officer Chris Albrecht in April. He received an additional $2,800 from both Albrecht and his current wife, Tina Trahan, in June, his disclosure shows.

The Biden campaign took the contributions despite Albrecht's history of abusing women. He has twice been arrested for misconduct allegations. The charges cost him jobs, though they did not stop him from finding work within the entertainment industry.

The Biden campaign did not respond to request for comment.

Albrecht resigned as chief executive officer at HBO at his employer's request in 2007 after being arrested and charged with assaulting his then-girlfriend.

The incident occurred in the MGM Grand Hotel's valet parking area around 3 a.m., hours after HBO broadcast a boxing match at the hotel. Police on the scene said the offense included "hitting, choking, or shoving" and said that Albrecht smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and slurred his speech.

After the incident, confidential sources told the Los Angeles Times that the assault was not Albrecht's first, and that Time Warner Inc. had paid a $400,000 settlement in 1991 to a female subordinate allegedly assaulted by Albrecht while on the job. The victim, Sasha Emerson, reported directly to Albrecht at the time as senior vice president at HBO Independent Productions.

"By 1990, the two had become romantically involved. Both were married at the time… By the time the incident occurred, Emerson and Albrecht had ended their trysts. Albrecht allegedly assaulted Emerson in her office in Century City when she told him she had been dating someone else, said one person close to Emerson. Albrecht allegedly threw her from her chair to the ground," the Times reported.

At the time of his resignation, Albrecht sent a message to HBO employees saying he "had been a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 13 years" and decided that he could "handle drinking again" before his Las Vegas arrest.

Albrecht has a long history of supporting the Democratic party, beyond Biden. Federal Elections Commission disclosures show that he donated $750,000 toward liberal causes. Recipients include former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), the DNC, DCCC, as well as the Senate campaigns of Democratic presidential candidates Kamala Harris (D., Calif.), Cory Booker (D., N.J.), and Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.). Albrecht was a noted Clinton supporter in 2016, donating $33,400 to the Hillary Victory Fund.

Most recently, Albrecht worked as president and CEO of Starz, where he negotiated a deal that saw disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein purchase 25 percent of the company. Albrecht called Weinstein a "terrific business partner" that he was "pleased to have" as part of Starz. Their relationship appears to go beyond business. Weinstein was photographed at a pre-Golden Globes party hosted by Albrecht in 2006 and went on to attend Albrecht's wedding in 2011.

Albrecht's max donation to Biden further showcases the former vice president's reliance on big money donors.

While many Democratic candidates have prioritized donations of $200 or less, more than one-third of Biden's $22 million second quarter haul came from donors giving the maximum amount. Pete Buttigieg outraised Biden with $24.8 million, though only $4.8 million of his total haul came from maximum contributions.

Colo. Legislators Welcome Bureau of Land Management Headquarters

The federal land management agency’s headquarters will be relocated from D.C. to Grand Junction, Colo.

Lawmakers from Colorado's Western Slope plan on welcoming the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's headquarters to Grand Junction with open arms.

The federal land management agency's headquarters will be relocated from Washington, D.C., to Grand Junction, located in Mesa County on the state's Western Slope.

The move was confirmed on Monday by U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner (R., Colo.) who has advocated for relocation since the early days of the Trump administration.

BLM manages public land and natural resources on 245 million acres across the county. Most of that land, however, is out west, in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Proponents of the move say federal officials will be able to better manage land and resources by being located nearer to them, rather than from Washington, D.C.

Mesa County Commissioner Rose Pugliese, a Republican, said having BLM decision makers in the community is an important step, and the relocation will also have an economic impact on the community.

"This is a great opportunity for us as an economic development community, including local elected officials, to really showcase our community on a national level," she told The Center Square. "We're excited to have the BLM relocating to Grand Junction."
