Spouseanon worked as a senior developer in Silicon Valley for a few years, major tech company (but not social media). More H1Bs than Americans in his immediate office. Spouse was the only one in the office that would actually speak up or question dumb shit, would push back, etc. Everyone else was too afraid to speak up because they didn't want to jeopardize their H1B or get fired. Head down, keep your mouth shut type of environment.
That's why Silicon Valley loves foreigners.. they work them like slaves for shit wages, with the promise of green card, but these people can't take up for themselves or speak out. It's a sad, fucked up situation.
Oh, no doubt anon.. just my personal experience. It's just one small part of a really big problem.
