Perjury? Mueller Claims His May 29 Presser Had Nothing to Do with Potential Contempt Order in Russian Troll Farm Case – Here is Evidence to the Contrary

Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) took former Special Council Robert Mueller to task on his claims about Russian troll farms (Concord and IRA) being run by the Kremlin.

McClintock also asked Mueller if his May 29 press conference had anything to do with the fact that, the previous day, the judge threatened to hold his prosecutors in contempt for misrepresenting evidence.

Mueller answered, “No.”

This is a lie.

Judge Friedrich responded to the contempt request in in a 23-page opinion and rebuked the special counsel and DOJ for falsely suggesting Concord was tied to the Kremlin, a fact that has never been proven, nor was it in Mueller’s indictment — Mueller did however make this claim in his garbage 448-page report.

On May 28, just one day before Mueller’s bizarre presser, Judge Friedrich filed an order and it appears Mueller’s statement followed her order.

Robert Mueller in his May 29 press conference DIRECTLY followed the Court’s order — in fact, the statement he made during his presser is almost verbatim, the exact words from Judge Dabney Friedrich’s order.

In Friedrich’s May 28th order, she specifically stated:

ORDERED that to the extent the government makes or authorizes any public statement about the allegations in the indictment, such statement must make clear that (1) the government is summarizing the allegations in the indictment, which remain unproven, and (2) the government does not express an opinion on the defendants’ guilt or innocence or the strength of the evidence in this case.

On May 29, Mueller gave a 9 minute press conference where he defended the Russian companies indicted and said they are presumed innocent until proven guilty — in other words, Mueller was following Judge Friedrich’s order.

“[As the grand jury alleged in a separate indictment, a private Russian entity engaged in social media operation where Russian citizens posed as Americans in order to interfere in the election,” Mueller said in his presser. “These indictments contain allegations. And We are not commenting on the guilt or innocence of any specific defendant. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.”

And today Mueller claimed under oath that his presser had nothing to do with the judge’s potential contempt order….sure ok.

Yet, for all their theatrical bluster and premeditated arrogance, behind the scenes central bankers - just as clueless as everyone else about the two most complex non-linear systems in the world, the economy and capital markets - are actively engaged in contemplating precisely what the "worst case" consequence - the blind spot of their actions so to speak - is and may be.

It may come as a surprise to some that at the Federal Reserve, there is not only a person, but an entire team, whose job it is to predict and anticipate just how Fed policy can go terribly, horribly wrong.

Meet Margaret McConnell: she is the person who, as Bloomberg puts it in its profile piece, "often tells Federal Reserve officials that they should be a lot more confused than they let on." McConnell is the head of the Applied Critical Thinking unit, "a little-known enclave of the New York Fed with a big mandate: to poke holes in the most basic assumptions that central bankers make – which can lead to big policy mistakes when they’re wrong."

In other words, McConnell, and the ACT group, engage in what outside of the Fed would be called tinfoil hat conspiracy theories - anticipating the ways that the Fed's shotgun approach to solving problems, which these days boils down to just one thing - cutting rates and printing money - will lead to new and never before seen complications, crises, and catastrophes, an outcome far worse than the global financial crisis.

No sweet deal: EU food authority found hiding health risks of world’s top sweetener

The world’s favorite artificial sweetener may pose severe health risks, University of Sussex researchers have found. They claim that the European food authority has been bottling up the alarming data for a while.

The study focused on aspartame, an artificial sweetener used worldwide in everything from diet soft drinks to chewing gum, and sold under brand names including NutraSweet, Candarel and Equal.

UK researchers analyzed the most recent report regarding the safety of the sweetener by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). They discovered that the panel dismissed the results of numerous studies detailing the harmful effects of the sweetener, while focusing their final assessment almost entirely on positive studies. For instance, out of the 73 papers that deemed aspartame dangerous, all 73 were thrown out by EFSA, while 84 percent of studies providing no evidence of its harm were found to be true.

Since 1974, when aspartame was approved for consumption in the United States, studies claimed that the sweetener caused a number of health problems, including liver and lung cancer, brain damage, and seizures.

However, the majority of health authorities worldwide claim the sweetener is safe. Sussex scholars believe that many of the studies deemed to be dubious by the EFSA panel provide far better empirical evidence on the harmful effects of the sweetener than those they relied on, so they see the entire assessment as false.

“This research adds weight to the argument that authorization to sell or use aspartame should be suspended throughout the EU, pending a thorough re-examination,” the study states.

Iran Claims IAEA Chief Behind Nuclear Deal "Eliminated" By Israeli Intelligence

Iran state media has made bombshell sensational claims of a conspiracy assassination of the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), whose death was reported early this week, prompting a firm denial from the powerful UN nuclear watchdog body.

On Wednesday semi-official Tasnim news agency claimed Israeli intelligence "eliminated" Yukiya Amano, who was the Director General of the IAEA and oversaw the singing of the landmark 2015 P5+1 nuclear deal (JCPOA). Iranian sources allege the covert assassination was carried out on the powerful staunch supporter of the JCPOA in order to gain leverage to force Tehran into dealing with the Trump White House's “pressure-talks” scheme, as Tasnim put it.

The 72-year old Amano, who was also a career Japanese diplomat, was considered a huge influence in seeing the Iranian nuclear deal through and ensuring its continued survival over and against recent Trump administration pressure. Trump had famously called the 2015 agreement brokered by the Obama administration "the worst deal ever negotiated" before ordering the unilateral US pullout.

The UN nuclear watchdog chief died on July 18, with the family only disclosing his passing on late Sunday, but no details as to the cause of death were given; however, a UN statement said he was due to step down next March due to an unspecified illness. Meanwhile Iran provided zero evidence for its wild accusation, nor did the report suggest exactly how the alleged Israeli intelligence plot was carried out.

The Iranian allegation made waves inside Israel and at the IAEA Wednesday, as the Times of Israel reports:

The Tehran-based outlet, which defines its mission as “defending the Islamic Revolution against negative media propaganda campaign [sic],” cited unnamed “informed sources” who insisted that Amano, a Japanese diplomat who was extensively involved in negotiations over Iran’s controversial nuclear program, had been “eliminated” after refusing to buckle to “heavy pressure” from Jerusalem and Washington.

This prompted a firm denial from the IAEA, which told The Times of Israel: “[We] categorically deny these false reports. Director General Yukiya Amano passed away on 18 July as a result of his illness.”

Mueller Report ‘mostly just regurgitated press stories’ – Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko

With Robert Mueller’s report partly relying on media stories to paint a picture of alleged obstruction, Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko asked the special counsel why she couldn’t have got a “$50 cable news subscription” instead.

Questioning Mueller at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, Lesko (R-Arizona) ridiculed the notion that President Donald Trump impeded the former special counsel’s investigation.

“Were you ever fired Mr Mueller?” she asked, to which Mueller replied “No.”

“Were you allowed to complete your investigation unencumbered?” she continued. Mueller replied “Yes.”

From there, Lesko chose a peculiar angle of attack to cast doubt on the second half of Mueller’s 440-page report. Outlining 10 potential cases of obstruction by the president, the report’s second half quotes mainstream media exposes more than 150 times to piece together an image of a president scrambling to prevent Mueller from doing his job.

“Rather than purely relying on the evidence provided by witnesses and documents, I think you relied a lot on media,” she said. “I’d like to know how many times you cited the Washington Post in your report.”

“Volume two is mostly regurgitated press stories,” she said. “Honestly, there’s almost nothing in volume two that I couldn’t already hear or know simply by having a $50 cable news subscription.”

Lesko was mocked by Democrats and the anti-Trump crowd for her line of questioning.

CEO Offers to Pay School Lunch Debt So Parents Won’t Have Kids Stolen by CPS, Gov’t Won’t Let Him

Luzerne County, PA — As TFTP reported this week, Wyoming Valley West School District parents, whose school lunch accounts were delinquent, received a disturbing letter threatening to have their children kidnapped by Child and Youth Services if they don’t pay their past due balances. The letter garnered national attention and drew the ire of many, including a millionaire CEO who offered to pay these past due balances. In an infuriating move, however, the school board rejected his offer and is opting for stealing the kids instead.

Todd Carmichael, chief executive and co-founder of Philadelphia-based La Colombe Coffee, made an offer this week to pay off the more than $22,000 in unpaid lunch bills to help the parents who so desperately need it. However, school board president Joseph Mazur rejected the offer on Tuesday, arguing that the money is owed by parents who can afford to pay it.

But this does not matter to Carmichael, who simply wants to wipe away the debt.

“The position of Mr. Carmichael is, irrespective of affluence, irrespective of need, he just wants to wipe away this debt,” Carmichael spokesman Aren Platt said Tuesday.

Carmichael — who is widely recognized for being the first American to cross Antarctica to the South Pole, on foot, alone — made this offer because he says as a child, he was helped by receiving free lunches. He explained his intent in a letter sent to papers in the Wilkes-Barre area on Monday.

“I know what it means to be hungry,” Carmichael wrote. “I know what it means to feel shame for not being able to afford food.”

Carmichael told reporters on Tuesday that he remains steadfast despite the school board rejecting his offer, and noted that it still stands.

“I’m just going to hold on and I’m going to continue to be optimistic and see if we can’t do something,” Carmichael said. “Even if you’re a difficult person, we’re in. What can we do?”

Carmichael explained how he was struggling to understand why anyone would turn down this offer to help, as it seems like a no-brainer.

“Why prevent it?” he said.

Wyoming Valley West’s solicitor, Charles Coslett, said he did not know what the school board planned to do, according to a report in the Associated Press.

“I don’t know what my client’s intention is at this point,” Coslett said. “That’s the end of the line.”

Mueller Says He Is ‘Not Familiar’ With Fusion GPS, The Firm Behind The Steele Dossier

Former special counsel Robert Mueller said Wednesday that he was “not familiar” with Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that commissioned the Steele dossier.

Mueller revealed his surprising lack of familiarity with the firm during an exchange with Ohio Rep. Steve Chabot, a Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee.

“When you talk about the firm that produced the Steele reporting, the name of the firm that produced that was Fusion GPS, is that correct?” Chabot asked.

“I’m not familiar with that,” said Mueller, while scouring through his 448-page report of the Russia probe.

“Let me just help you. It was. It’s not a trick question or anything. It was Fusion GPS,” said Chabot.

The Republican laid out links between Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson and Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who attended the June 9, 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with Trump associates.

“This is outside my purview,” Mueller said when asked about the issue.

Mueller’s lack of familiarity with Fusion GPS and Simpson is something of a surprise given its prominent role in creating the dossier, which former British spy Christopher Steele authored and the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign funded.

The FBI relied heavily on the dossier to obtain wiretap warrants against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The Justice Department’s inspector general is investigating whether the FBI misled the federal surveillance court by relying on Steele’s unverified report.

Mueller’s investigation undercut the dossier’s core allegation that the Trump campaign engaged in a “well-developed conspiracy of co-operation” with the Russian government.

Mueller told lawmakers in his opening remarks that he would not discuss the dossier or the origins of the Russia probe.

“I therefore will not be able to answer questions about certain areas that I know are of public interest. For example, I’m unable to address questions about the initial opening of the FBI’s Russia investigation, which occurred months before my appointment, or matters related to the so-called Steele dossier,” Mueller said.

“These are matters of ongoing review by the department and any questions on these topics should be directed to the FBI or Justice Department,” he added.

Mueller Confronted for Stacking His Team with Hillary Clinton Allies

Although trade tensions have seemingly calmed between the trans-Atlantic allies since US President Donald Trump first announced plans to impose new import tariffs on European automobiles, his contempt for the bloc apparently hasn’t diminished much.

Trump recently took a swipe at the bloc, saying that it: “rips us off on trade, and we protect them with military”. While giving a speech at the conservative Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit, Trump went on to describe the EU’s trade policies toward the US as worse than China’s.

“The European Union is worse to us on trade than China… You know, a lot of us come from the European Union. We come from Europe — our grandparents, our great-grandparents. So you think, ‘Oh, isn’t that nice?’ Except, they kill us — the European Union. It was formed to beat us economically, and yet we protect them with NATO”, Trump lamented.

During the rant, Trump also accused the European Union of “not paying their bills” for US military protection.

“They rip us off on trade. They have trade barriers that make it impossible for certain groups, like farmers and others, to go in. They rip us on trade, and then we protect them and they rip us on that too. And they don’t pay their bills. Other than that, it’s a wonderful deal”, he said while noting that his administration was in the process of “getting it straightened out”.

Trump went on to label Germany as the blocs “biggest offender”, criticizing it for failing to meet NATO’s 2 percent of GDP target.

“Germany doesn’t want to pay. They’re supposed to pay 2 percent. They’re paying 1 percent. And I say, ‘You got to pay, Angela. You got to pay, Angela. Please pay, Angela”, Trump said.

A tariff spat between the EU and the US broke out in 2018 after the Trump administration decided to impose higher taxes on steel and aluminum imports coming from the bloc. Trump later threatened in May that he would place tariffs on specific imported vehicles and parts which he said were threats to “national security”. As of now, the plan is currently on hold.

In response to Trump’s threats, the EU has revealed its own plan to counter potential US tariffs on EU cars – namely extra duties of up to 35 billion euros on US goods.

Mueller Confronted for Stacking His Team with Hillary Clinton Allies

Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) grilled former special counsel Robert Mueller about his team’s questionable hiring practices, using his line of questioning to demonstrate that Mueller – knowingly or unknowingly – stacked his team with Hillary Clinton allies.

Mueller refused to discuss how many people he fired during the course of the investigation, but Armstrong cited an Inspector General report, which noted the termination of two individuals, an attorney and Peter Strzok:

Armstrong quoted Strzok, who claimed that he was fired, in part, because Mueller was “concerned about preserving the appearance of independence with the special counsel’s investigation.”

“Do you agree with that statement?” Armstrong asked.

“The statement was by whom?” a confused Mueller asked.

“Peter Strzok–at this hearing,” Armstrong said.

Mueller told the lawmaker that he was “not familiar” with that and ultimately denied that he fired Strzok due to those specific concerns.

“He was transferred as a result of instances involving texts,” Mueller said.

Armstrong continued, listing controversial members of Mueller’s former team – members who had connections to Clinton and Democrats, including top Mueller prosecutor Andrew Weissmann.

Mueller said that Weissmann, who attended Hillary Clinton’s election night party, played “some role” in selecting other members of the team.

“Andrew Weissmann attended Hillary Clinton’s election night party. Did you know that before or after he came on to the team?” Armstrong asked.

“Don’t know when I found that out,” Mueller said.

“On January 30, 2017, Weissmann wrote an email to Deputy Attorney General Yates, stating, ‘I am so proud and in awe regarding her disobeying a direct order from the president.’ Did Weissmann disclose the email to you before or after he joined the team?” Armstrong pressed.

“I’m not going to talk about that,” Mueller said.

“Is that not a conflict of interest?” Armstrong asked.

“I’m not going to talk about that,” Mueller repeated.

Armstrong also mentioned Aaron Zebley, another key prosecutor, who was sitting next to Mueller during the hearing:

Aaron Zebley – the guy sitting next to you – represented Justin Cooper, a Clinton aide who destroyed one of Clinton’s mobile devices. And you must be aware by now that six of your lawyers donated $12,000 directly to Hillary Clinton. I’m not even talking about the $49,000 they donated to other Democrats – just the donations to the opponent who’s the target of your investigation.

Mueller said he “hired individuals who could do the job” and dismissed the need to consider one’s political affiliation.

“What I care about is the capability of the individual to do the job and to do the job quickly and seriously and with integrity,” Mueller said.

Armstrong, who used his line of questioning to demonstrate the questionable hiring practices of Mueller’s team, called out his colleagues for hypocrisy:

If Peter Srzok had texted those terrible things about Hillary Clinton instead of President Trump, if a team of lawyers worked for, donated thousands of dollars to, and went to Trump’s parties instead of Clinton’s, I don’t think we would be here trying to prop up an obstruction allegation.

“My colleagues would’ve spent the last four months accusing your team of being bought and paid for by the Trump campaign, and we couldn’t trust a single word of this report,” he added.

German NGO Sea-Eye’s “Alan Kurdi” ship to resume its illegal migrant taxi service

A spokesperson for the German NGO Sea-Eye said that its migrant transport vessel, the “Alan Kurdi”, will begin a new four-week mission off the coast of Libya in international waters.

The NGO said that its boat is currently en route to Libya with eight crew members and twelve volunteers. One physician and one paramedic are also on board, Info Migrants reports.

Nicole Grimske, a spokesperson for the NGO, said that although the migrant transport vessel is equipped for acute emergencies, it isn’t able to provide for large amounts of individuals over longer periods of time.

When asked about her thoughts on the Italian government refusing to allow NGO migrant transport vessels to dock in its harbors, Grimske said that Sea-Eye wasn’t looking for conflicts.

“We hope it will be possible to bring people to a safe place quickly,” Grimske told reporters.

Grimske also remarked on newly formed, Franco-German led migrant redistribution coalition, calling it a “very positive development”.

Italy’s national populist interior minister Matteo Salvini and his Maltese counterpart have both firmly opposed the use of NGO migrant transport vessels to assist in the mass illegal migration of individuals from third world countries into Europe.

The people of Malta and Italy have suffered immensely because they’ve been forced to bear the brunt of mass migration into Europe.

The announcement from the German NGO follows another recent announcement by the French NGO SOS Mediterrane, that its own migrant transport vessel, the Norwegian-flagged Ocean Viking, will resume its illegal migrant taxi service in the Mediterranean this month.

That means that “Open Arms” of the Spanish NGO Proactiva Open Arms, the “Ocean Viking” of the French SOS Mediterrane, and the “Alan Kurdi” of the German Sea-Eye will all be carrying out operations to transport migrants into Europe.

These developments come about a month after the arrest of the far-left activist and German captain of the Sea-Watch 3, Carola Rackete, by Italian authorities after she rammed an Italian police speedboat while trying to illegally dock without permission in the Italian port of Lampedusa.

The Sea-Watch 3 is currently sitting in Italian ports while Italian authorities investigate Rackete for aiding illegal migration.

France: Migrants severely beaten by angry mob at the pool after sexually assaulting underage girls

Two migrants from the small eastern European country of Moldova were brutally beaten by a mob of people at an outdoor swimming pool in France after they sexually assaulted two underage girls.

According to France’s Le Parisien, the incident happened around four in the afternoon over the weekend in the commune of Draviel, with two Moldovan migrants, both thought to be in their thirties, molesting a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old girl.

Following the assaults, one of the young girls shouted, alerting other pool-goers who then proceeded to run over and begin attacking the two Moldovans. Reports suggest that the father of the two girls also joined the others in beating the two sexual predators.

Apparently, one of the migrant men somehow managed to escape the retribution and hid while his friend had to be saved from being beaten to death by the pool’s security.

A source who is close to the investigation has said, “One of the men has a head injury, a broken nose, and wrist. The other has cracked ribs and a swollen face.”

Abdel Ammari, the director of the facility where the attack took place, stated that this was the very first time that an incident like this had occurred there.

When asked about the incident, local Mayor Georges Tron said, “The consequences of these unacceptable behaviors could have been dramatic.”

“I will not hesitate a second to close the pool if this kind of incident happens again,” the mayor added.

This incredibly unsettling incident comes on the heels of another incident in Germany where a gang of individuals, believed to be of North African origin, terrorized guests and staff at an outdoor pool in Düsseldorf, causing the pool to be shut down.

Disturbingly enough, on the same weekend, other incidents occurred at French pools where drunk men in their twenties were reported to have sexually assaulted two teenage girls.

Last winter, Il Giornale reported on an incident where a Nigerian migrant was nearly lynched by a group of people in Naples after he was caught trying to drag a local woman into an alley in an attempt to rape her.

Boris Johnson stood at the podium before Downing Street and told a crowd of waiting journalists that he would take the United Kingdom out of the European Union “no ifs, no buts” in 99 days time.

Speaking to a chorus of jeers from protestors on Whitehall, just yards away from where he stood in front of the Prime Minister’s official residence in London, Britain’s new leader Boris Johnson vowed to deliver Brexit.

Noting the negative atmosphere in British politics at present, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:

…there are pessimists at home and abroad who think after three years of indecision that this country has become a prisoner to the old arguments of 2016, and that in this home of democracy we are incapable of honouring a democratic mandate. So I am standing in front of you today to tell you, the British people that they are wrong. The doubters, the doomster, the gloomsters, they are going to get it wrong again.

The people who bet against Britain again are going to lose their shirts, because we are going to restore trust in our democracy and we are going to fulfil the repeated promises of parliament to the people and come out of the EU on the 31st of October, no ifs, no buts.”

And we will do a new deal, a better deal, that will maximise the opportunities of Brexit… based on free trade and mutual support. I have every confidence that in 99 days we will have cracked it.

Mr Johnson has previously vowed to take Britain out of the European Union “do or die” by October 31st — in 99 days time — but clearly prefers agreeing to a new deal if possible. While the European Union has repeatedly rejected this as a possibility, the new Prime Minister signalled his optimism, when he said:

I say to our friends in Ireland, and Brussels, and around the EU. I am convinced we can do a deal. Without checks at the Irish border, because we refuse under any circumstances to have such checks and yet without that anti-democratic backstop. It is of course vital at the same time that we prepare for the remote possibility that Brussels refuses any further to negotiate, and we are forced to come out with no deal.

Not because we want that outcome, of course not. But because it is only common sense to prepare. And let me stress that there is a vital sense in which those preparations cannot be wasted, and that is because under any circumstances we will need to get ready. At some point in the near future, to come out of the EU customs union and out of regulatory control.

[We will be] fully determined to take advantage, at last, of Brexit. Because that is the course this country is now set, with high hearts and growing confidence we will now accelerate the work of getting ready.

In a clear message to Europe that he did not intend to hand over the so-called Brexit divorce payment to Brussels in a case of a no-deal departure, and would instead use the money to boost the economy upon Brexit, Boris said: “…and don’t forget, in a no-deal situation we will have that extra lubrication of the £39 billion pounds.”
