Anyone remember what Saudi or Iran was like in the early to mid 70's? For those that don't…might as well have been here. I had friends who loved soccer and would travel to world cup matches…Iran was wonderful and a beautiful place.
Currently if you are a company that builds a better widgit…how do you get the word out? Tell your friends? Great! You have a local business!
But what if you want to take widgetco national? Then you have to advertise and you will need several tools…
-press release..oh, but you better be politically correct because only 2 companies OWN the ability to get a press release out nationally…if you are a company that threatens pharma you will NOT be allowed a press release..serious..I have the emails..
-advertising..but where? National TV? Good luck with that, widgetco could never afford it…newspapers? Maybe…print..maybe..but expensive!
Why social is SO important is this…right now you can advertise a company and develop a company for pennies compared to these older methods…
BUT…
You cannot develop a natural products company that would threaten pharma (you won't be allowed to advertise…thru adwords or other vehicles..)
Any company that threatens big pharma there are multiple guardians at the gate to guard…advertising thru social is one of them…
