Fmr Police Chief Gets NO JAIL for Helping Convicted Rapist Son Escape to Mexico

A California Highway Patrol Assistant Police Chief, his wife, and their daughter all helped their son/brother, who was accused of raping their neighbor’s maid, escape to Mexico.

Despite the horrific nature of their family member’s rape, Gail Scarber, Kyle Scarber and daughter Crystal Reynoso, received only probation for their crimes. The criminal parents, according to their plea deal, also are ordered to pay the State of California $10,000 in restitution and serve 500 hours of community service. Reynoso was also ordered to complete 250 hours of community service. None of them, however, will go to jail for helping a violent rapist flee the country.

In 2012, Spencer Scarber was accused of raping his neighbors maid. When detectives arrived to question the Scarbers, they invented a story saying their son had been kidnapped and they did not know where he was. During the investigation it was learned the Scarbers not only knew where he was but helped him get there, otherwise known as aiding and abetting a fugitive—a felony crime.

According to the Fresno Bee, detectives alleged that Gail and Crystal drove Spencer across the Mexican border where they helped him dye his hair, grow a goatee, and obtain fake identification. The entire ruse was an attempt to disguise himself in hopes he would not be found by U.S. authorities.

Unfortunately for Spencer, authorities eventually took him back into custody, put him on trial, and a jury found him guilty. Due to the graphic nature of the rape, he was sentenced to over 30 years in prison The family maintains Spencer did not receive a fair trial and they were forced to take action to protect the perpetrator, the cop’s own son.

The family’s lawyer successfully helped the family get their felony convictions reduced to misdemeanors and not one of them was required to spend any amount of time in jail. Their probation period will be over in January of the coming year. Roger Nuttall seemed pleased with the outcome telling reporters:

It’s over…It has been a long and painful ordeal for the family and now they can try and put this behind them with only misdemeanor convictions.

Scarber retired from the police force once he got into trouble with the very law he was required to uphold. He was drawing over 125k in retirement funds per year for his over 20 years of service and then asked to have his retirement switched to a form of disability which would allow him to avoid paying taxes on his income. Despite this conviction, he is still receiving that tax free golden parachute. Reportedly, the convicted criminals’ marriage did not survive the stress of the family’s legal matters. The Spencers have filed for divorce.

It’s unfortunate and all too common for us here at TFTP to report on crimes being committed by family members of police officers, who, subsequently, get away with those crimes with the help of the police and prosecuting attorneys.

Nancy Pelosi: Supreme Court Allowing Trump to ‘Steal Military Funds’ for ‘Wasteful, Ineffective’ Wall

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) accused the Supreme Court of allowing the Trump administration to “steal military funds to spend on a wasteful, ineffective border wall” in reaction to Friday’s ruling, which allows the administration to transfer defense funds to begin the construction of the border wall.

The Supreme Court lifted an injunction Friday, giving the Trump administration the green light to transfer funds from the Defense Department to begin the construction of the border wall, per the president’s emergency declaration.

As Breitbart News reported:

The decision was largely along partisan lines, with all five Republican-appointed justices voting to lift the injunction, while all three liberal justices were opposed. Justice Stephen Breyer sought to have it both ways, allowing the process to go forward but not the construction: “There is a straightforward way to avoid harm to both the Government and respondents while allowing the litigation to proceed. Allowing the Government to finalize the contracts at issue, but not to begin construction, would al- leviate the most pressing harm claimed by the Government without risking irreparable harm to respondents.”

Pelosi slammed the ruling, declaring that the Supreme Court is giving the administration permission to “steal military funds” to spend on a wall, which she considers “wasteful” and “ineffective.”

“This evening’s Supreme Court ruling allowing @realDonaldTrump to steal military funds to spend on a wasteful, ineffective border wall rejected by Congress is deeply flawed,” Pelosi declared.

“Our Founders designed a democracy governed by the people — not a monarchy,” she added.

The Democrat-controlled House repeatedly dismissed the demands for wall funding earlier this year. Trump originally requested $5.7 billion for the wall, which Pelosi repeatedly rejected.

“There’s not going to be any wall money in the legislation,” Pelosi said during negotiations in January.

“Republicans on the Homeland Security Committee are wasting their time. Democrats, despite all of the evidence, proof and Caravans coming, are not going to give money to build the DESPERATELY needed WALL,” Trump tweeted at the time.

“I’ve got you covered. Wall is already being built, I don’t expect much help!” he added.

The president celebrated the political victory in a tweet Friday night, calling it a “big win.”

“Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed,” he wrote. “Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!”

Grammy-winning singer Tori Kelly heaps praise on the Bible, says reading it daily is 'crucial'

'We have to be intentional about just sitting down with God'

Grammy-winning singer Tori Kelly, who has achieved widespread success in the secular and faith-based music worlds, believes prayer and the Bible are essential, calling regular scripture reading “crucial" to her walk with God.

Kelly, 26, shared her spiritual journey and Christian beliefs in a recent interview with YouVersion, explaining her upbringing and the details of her journey toward making her faith her own.

(Looking for hope? Watch Uplifting Movies and TV Shows Right Now on PureFlix.com)

"My faith is everything to me. I did grow up in the church, but I think maybe like some other people who grow up in the church you kind of get to a point where your faith really becomes your own and it's not about what your parents say or what they believe," she said. "But it's really like, 'Oh no, this is real to me. I have experienced the presence of God and I know that this is my own faith.'"

Watch Kelly's powerful comments about faith:

Kelly also spoke about the importance of daily spiritual discipline — praying and "spending time in [the] Word every single day."

"We have to be intentional about just sitting down with God," she said, going on to speak about how important it is to regularly read the Bible. "I mean it is life to me, I don't really know how else to explain it other than it's so essential, crucial."

The singer said that people who drift away from the Bible don't often notice the impact of their decision not to read scripture until later on when something doesn't quite feel right.

"You wake up and you're like, 'Oh my gosh why do I feel this way? I feel horrible and I feel like I don't hear God's voice, like what's going on?'" she said. "It's that routine just like anything else. It's like working out."

Kelly said the impact of Bible reading and spiritual health might not be noticeable on day one, but that — just like exercise — the payoff will be seen over time.

Tech Leaders Warn That China’s Spies Have ‘Thoroughly Infiltrated’ Silicon Valley with Google’s ‘Seemingly Treasonous’ Help

Cold War One

For a period of time, the overseas communist empire had been America’s geopolitical partner. Yet then a string of incidents suggested that maybe the partnership wasn’t so friendly after all; numerous spies were discovered in our midst, responsible for stealing some of America’s most precious strategic secrets. Moreover, a string of American witnesses came forward to offer firsthand accounts of espionage penetrations, and the dangers they posed. And so finally, it became clear to the American people, always reluctant to abandon the hope for peace and friendship, that, yes, the partnership was truly over.

Does this seem to describe the worsening relationship between the U.S. and China over the last two decades—as most Americans have gone from being hopeful that the Chinese economic miracle would lead to democratization, to being fearful of the strategic power of Big Panda?

In the year 2000, President Bill Clinton sat down with the Chinese leadership and agreed that the two countries, the U.S. and China, would enjoy a “constructive strategic partnership.” And the two presidents since Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, both mostly ignored China as they pursued other goals, such as democratizing Iraq or signing a nuclear deal with Iran. To put that another way, both Bush and Obama were mostly content to leave the warm relationship with China in place, not really noticing that China was taking our jobs, stealing our intellectual property, and growing to be more of a geopolitical menace.

This American naiveté about China has an interesting historical parallel. You see, seven decades ago, there was another warm relationship with a communist power that grew cold. That relationship, of course, was between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, back in the 1940s. Indeed, if we study the trajectory of a warm alliance that deteriorated into a cold war, we can learn some valuable lessons in strategic statecraft—specifically, how America can can keep its footing, even as the international terrain is shifting.

During World War Two, the U.S. and U.S.S.R. had been allies in the war against Germany, and then, at the tail end of the fighting, against Japan, too.

July 1945 marked the high-water mark of that alliance. That’s when the leaders of the United States, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain met in Potsdam, Germany to celebrate the complete defeat, two months earlier, of Hitler’s regime, and to plan for the final vanquishing of Japan, which came the following month. Amidst all those high hopes, many Americans were, yes, naive about the prospect of a constructive U.S.-Soviet relationship in the postwar era.

Yet soon, clear-eyed observers—most notably, Winston Churchill, who coined the phrase “iron curtain” in 1946—saw that the Western vision of a free world was incompatible with Stalinist totalitarianism. Thus the warmth of 1945 became chilly soon thereafter, heading toward the frigidity of the Cold War.

A critical moment in that freezing came in 1948, when the Soviets blockaded truck transport from West Germany to the urban island of West Berlin, that being an enclave of two million German civilians—as well as American, British, and French garrison troops—inside Soviet-controlled East Germany.

The Russian blockade was non-violent; the Red Army simply refused to allow supply trucks to travel the 100 miles from the West German border, through East Germany, to West Berlin. This blockade was technically an act of war, and the Americans could have regarded it as such. Yet in his larger wisdom, President Harry Truman chose to respond in a clever but non-violent manner; he ordered the Berlin Airlift, flying supplies right over the heads of Red Army blockaders—who didn’t dare shoot down the planes and really go to war.

Trans woman who filed a controversial human rights complaint against salons over claims she was refused services, including Brazilian waxes, is accused of engaging in 'inappropriate sexual behaviors' with a 14-year-old girl

A transgender Canadian woman who claims that salons have discriminated against her for her gender identity and male genitalia is now being accused of sexually inappropriate communications with a minor.

Transgender activist Jessica Yaniv, from Vancouver, B.C., filed an official complaint with B.C. Human Rights Tribunal in 2018, alleging that more than a dozen salons in the area refused services like manicures, facials and waxing — Brazilian and otherwise — because she is trans.

After her name was released to the press this week, the 32-year-old has spoken publicly about the issue, prompting critics to debate and attack her online — with some going so far as to sling anti-trans insults.

Yaniv is a male to female transgender woman who has not yet had sex-reassignment surgery, meaning she has male genitalia.

The owner of one salon named in the complaint has said it's not about Yaniv being trans, but that she doesn't wax male genitalia, and would have performed a Brazilian on Yaniv if she had already completed what is often referred to as 'bottom surgery' to remove her penis.

Supporters of the salons have said forcing a waxer to handle a penis when they don't want to is wrong, regardless of the gender identity of the person it is attached.

Yaniv herself has said 'it is OK [to refuse to wax male genitalia],' but added 'it all depends how' the refusal is framed.

Former MSNBC Host Blasts Network, Says It Pushed ‘Conspiracy Theories’ for Ratings

The less-than-enlightening Wednesday testimony of former special counsel Robert Mueller before Congress had left-wing establishment media outlets scrambling to spin the day’s events into a damning depiction of President Donald Trump‘s innumerable attempts to obstruct justice during the Russia investigation.

Coincidentally, however, the day’s events also had members of said establishment media at one another’s throats.

On one hand, there were those struggling to gin up headlines peddling the narrative that Mueller had somehow proven Trump to be a liar and a criminal or quietly been signaling for Congress to investigate the matter further and pursue impeachment.

On the other, a number of the most prominent progressive members of the media admitted the testimony was an absolute “disaster for the Democrats” and the optics were abysmal.

Mueller’s inability to answer basic questions about his report, his doddering speech pattern and overall inability to make an impassioned case against Trump had destroyed any hope the Democrats had for impeaching the president.

One media talking head in particular, a former MSNBC host, went on the warpath, placing the blame for Mueller’s disastrously disappointing testimony on the media itself — particularly, her former employer.

Krystal Ball, co-host of The Hill’s “Rising,” said Thursday that the establishment media’s constant reliance on outlandish claims and conspiracy theories that Mueller would reveal Trump to be no less than a Russian asset and high criminal had actually weakened Mueller’s report and testimony.

These outlandish stories reported breathlessly for more than two years, Ball said, had given the American people — particularly leftists — unfairly high expectations for the Mueller report’s findings, making the left look rabid and all but ensuring that what little important information was revealed would be underwhelming at best.

Ball also dared say that hosts at MSNBC had drunk far “more deeply of the Russia conspiracy waters than others.”

She went on to argue that what could have been a damning report and testimony “does not feel like a damning set of facts when for months MSNBC built segment after segment, show after show, on building anticipation for a big reveal when we would learn the true depths of Trump’s fealty and direct conspiracy with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin.”

Migration Watch Launches Petition Against BoJo’s Illegal Migrant Amnesty Proposal

Migration Watch UK has launched an official petition against Boris Johnson’s proposal to give amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants.

Boris Johnson told the House of Commons on Thursday that he favours an illegal migrant amnesty, and that his government will be looking at “the economic advantages and disadvantages” of issuing one.

Following his first statement to the House of Commons as Prime Minister, the Tory leader was reminded that he had “courted popularity with pledging an amnesty for illegal immigrants” as Mayor of London by Labour’s Rupa Huq, who asked him if he would now be “a man of his word” and deliver on it.

Johnson readily conceded that “[on] amnesty on illegal immigrants, it is absolutely true that I have raised it several times” and that “it did not receive an overwhelming endorsement from the previous prime minister when I raised it once in Cabinet” as Foreign Secretary — but that it was back on the table now that he was in charge.

Home Secretary: There ‘May Be’ One Million Illegal Migrants in UK

https://t.co/DamSjGXT4o

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) October 18, 2017

“I do think that our arrangements in theoretically being committed to the expulsion of perhaps half a million people who don’t have the correct papers and who may have been living and working here for many, many years without being involved in any criminal activity at all… I think that the legal position is anomalous,” he said — with “people who don’t have the correct papers” being a reference to people who have entered or stayed in the country illegally.

“[W]e need to look at our arrangements for people who have lived and worked here for a long time unable to enter the economy, unable to participate properly or pay taxes without documents,” he continued — casting his earlier suggestion that the people he was referring to hadn’t been involved in “criminal activity” into some doubt.

“We should look at it and, the truth is, the law already basically allows them an effective amnesty, that’s basically where we have settled now. But we should look at the economic advantages and disadvantages of going ahead with the policy that [Rupa Huq] described, and which I think she and I share,” he concluded, to some murmurs of discontent from the Tory backbenches.

The illegal migrant had already been arrested last year and released by cops, even though he had no right to be in the country https://t.co/Yp0Fi6mNLX

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) January 5, 2019

Alp Mehmet, chairman of the Migration Watch UK think tank and pressure group, told Breitbart London that “an amnesty would simply reward illegality and encourage more illegal immigration in the future.”

He said that his petition, organised in anticipation of Johnson becoming Prime Minister and pushing for amnesty, “carries the clear signal that amnesties for illegal immigration don’t work, as has been seen in Spain and Italy.”

“Amnesties are also unpopular,” he added. “Over three-quarters of the public — 77 per cent — see illegal immigration as a serious problem.”

Migration Watch UK has previously published research warning that official estimates for the number of illegal migrants in the country may far below the real figure, and that the impact of social housing, for example, could be massive, with costs running into the billions of pounds.

As expected, Prime Minister Johnson drops the pledge to cut net migration to below 100k per annum, supports amnesty for undocumented migrants and calls for standard skills-based migration policy. “Britain’s Trump?” Total rubbish.

— Matthew Goodwin (@GoodwinMJ) July 25, 2019

Amnesties for illegal migrants in the United States, supposedly offered in hopes that they would clear the authorities’ backlog and give them a fresh start to get a grip on illegal immigration, have failed to have the desired effect.

Amnestied illegal simply used their new legal status to bring in relatives and spouses through “family reunification”, or chain migration, while new illegals were encouraged to enter in the belief that they too would eventually be allowed to stay if they simply remained undetected for long enough.
