Poland was German territory prior to WW1.

After WW1, that land was taken from Germany. Germans still lived there.

Prior to WW2, the Polish government was beating, raping, and killing ethnic Germans who still lived in Poland.

Hitler demanded they stop, and they did not. So, Hitler went in and put a stop to it within 24 hours.

Churchill used that as an excuse to start WW2.
