Sure, Chamberlain/Churchill. Chamberlain was PM, but Churchill was the pivotal player. The idea that Churchill was somehow out of the loop is countered by the fact that he was appointed the head of the Navy on Day #1 of WW2. Chamberlain was ineffectual and pushed aside.
Poland may have been a vast kingdom in the past, but so was Germany. WW1 saw Germany carved up and land taken from them. There were ethnic Germans living in Poland because of that.
The Danzig Massacre saw thousands of Germans murdered by Poles. Seems reasonable that someone would want to do something about that. Hitler appealed to the League of Nations many times, but was ignored.

When it comes to politics, they are pretty much all dirty. We will never have all the accurate facts. But just because history is written by the victors, there is no reason to believe that the victors are honest about what they want you to believe.
