>The parallel to sin is the idea that we exist to be redeemed for our sin of being born. This is absurd, and Kill la Kill is drawing a direct parallel between Ragyo, Religion, its god (as an alien parasite), as well as mega-corporate-cabals of uniformity.
"Sin" is a deeply misunderstood thing. The Christian church has been selling the message that we are inherently born bad and must be turned good and acceptable to God by "repenting", which usually involves paying tithes to the church and signing up for their mind control.
This is indeed an absurd notion, that only makes sense if you think of the church as a parasitic entity that seeks to feed on people, rather than help them.
But that's not really what "sin" is! We are not born bad, we are just born ignorant, and prone to making mistakes. Sin is not defined as "that which is inherently wrong with us", it is instead defined as "a thing that keeps us from reaching our highest potential".
When you think of it that way, it becomes instantly clear how you can hate the sin and love the sinner. And it also becomes clear that anyone who is trying to sell a version of "sin" that involves you not being acceptable to God unless you do as this person says is just trying to use you.
Churches attract a lot of pedophiles and other parasitical critters, ever notice that? A lot of evil can be done to people who have been fooled into thinking you have the power to decide if God loves you or not!
