what about red pepper/cayenne pepper, other spices?

Surprised garlic isn’t allowed in that practice, though I can understand… garlic is very flavorful and robust, aromatic, it kind of “seduces” your senses.

You also can burp it up for a couple hours, which would make for a terrible group yoga session.

I don’t know if I can stand behind it causing ignorance. While there’s a lot to be learned, I think the root cause of ignorance now is the assholes hiding knowledge / charging for access to it! Either by blackmail or $$

>How do you understand anything?

>Isn't understanding derived from experience?

No, you can imagine the experience and if you’re smart enough you’ll be able to “understand” Through the sensations your imagination conjures.

If you can’t imagine anything, I’d say that could be a sign you’re not “awake” enough.

I think it’s a little more evolved than that. It’s not just about consuming the information. Lots of past philosophers discovered a lot about psychology and human behavior, societal and ecological and economical cause/effect. There’s patterns everywhere and with enough brain training you can start to “see” them. Yes, you can have an “original thought” but people of the past didn’t just think and not test their theories. They wrote papers and shared (peer review). Some were thought to be mentally unstable during their time alive, some became famous/foundational after they died.
