'What about France!' Verhofstadt ridiculed over Hong Kong tweet as he IGNORES yellow vests
GUY VERHOFSTADT has come under attack after a weekend foray into violent protests witnessed in Hong Kong and Moscow.
The Belgian MEP, who is the European Parliament’s Brexit co-ordinator, criticised the violence citizens braved “to demand a liberal democratic system”. He also accused the “European far-right and far-left” for admiring the “repressive regimes” in Hong Kong and Russia. Writing on Twitter, he said: “In Hong Kong and Moscow, citizens brave violence to demand a liberal democratic system.
“Let’s not forget that the European far-right and far left admire such repressive regimes.
“Our freedom must be preserved and defending.”
