I think the meeting may be for show. Fly a mil plane to Aviano and meet with Africom in Vincenza. Stay in Venice, which is sort of in between.

The mil meeting is just an excuse to take a family trip to Venice on the taxpayer's dime while you actually plan to meet with other groups while there.

Remember last year Pelosi was in Brussels. Pelosi, on a mil plane, said they had to stop there to refuel or something. Bullshit because Brussels is basically on the glide path to Ramstein. Ramstein is in the middle of nowhere, though, so they stopped in tourist spot Brussels for the better highway connections to get to meetings in various directions.

TL;DR: She plans family vacations with meetings and uses military flights to get them close to a vacation spot. Mil meetings are for plausible deniability.
