Exactly correct about the worship of death.

Practicing Catholics are likely drawn to the sense of holiness and sobriety practiced in the church.

The Catholic Church was one of the first to join the civil rights marches and to actively integrate their schools giving grants to students of color.

There are some priests that truly are dedicated to the service of people and Jesus.

And then there are those who sink into corruption and vanity.

Whatever the hell is going on in the Vatican would outrage the most of practicing Catholics.

In fact, there are many "break off" churches that believe the Pope is blasphemous, and that since "Vatican II" changes that the church has gone the wrong way.

But people like the sense of holiness in this church, whatever else is screwy.

How many martyrs were there because of this "re-inaction of the last supper" ceremony crap.

Christianity is a religion of peace, not sacrificial blood.

whatever we think about religions

they give us a sense of social order and help us to aspire to be good people

we don't want to live in a world that has no way for people to keep their moral bearings

after great research and thought

whether we can prove the existence of God or not

I've come to believe that we need to refresh our sense of morality and social peace with each other

and there just is no better way

than to belong to a good church

the trick is to find a really good church

that centers around good works
