Major Solar Storm To Strike Earth This Week As "Black Supermoon" Looms
An absolutely massive hole has formed in the upper atmosphere of the Sun, and our planet will align with that hole later this week. Once the alignment happens, Earth will be bombarded by a “solar storm”, and nobody is quite sure yet how bad it will be. If the storm is relatively minor, we could just experience a few disruptions to satellite communications and see some pretty lights in the sky.
But if the storm is really severe, our electrical grid could be fried and we could experience widespread power outages. According to the Express, “the solar storm will hit Earth on July 31 or August 1″…
Earth’s orbit around the Sun will soon align with a coronal hole – a hole in the Sun’s upper atmosphere – and solar particles will subsequently bombard the planet after they have made their way through space. Experts predict that the solar storm will hit Earth on July 31 or August 1. People in the northern hemisphere are likely to be treated to northern lights – or aurora borealis – as the solar winds bombard the upper reaches of the planet.
Of course North America is in the northern hemisphere, and so we could be in for a direct hit.
Since our satellites are outside our atmosphere, they are the most vulnerable during a solar storm.
If some of our satellites get fried, that could affect GPS navigation, cell phone communication, and satellite television services…

But if the storm is powerful enough, electronic devices all over the country could be damaged and our power grid could potentially be disabled. According to astrophysicist Scott McIntosh, a really bad solar storm could potentially even cause some of our major cities to be without power for months…
McIntosh winces at the thought of what a massive storm might do: “Could you imagine DC or New York City being without power for six months, or eight months a year because of a solar event that they didn’t forecast well?”

Florida pastor arrested on 500 counts of child pornography
A Florida minister has been charged with 500 counts of child pornography, reports CBS News.
According to Sarasota County Sheriff’s officials, Charles Andrews, 66, had the pornographic material on his personal computer.
He was also accused of failing to register as a sex offender after a 2006 incident, when he was accused of sexual abuse. His bond is set at more than $5 million.

Cyber security company owner arrested for recent personal data breach in Bulgaria
The owner of a cyber security company was arrested Tuesday morning for a recent personal data breach in the National Revenue Agency (NRA), sources of the prosecution office told BTA. He was remanded at Sofia Airport as he arrived from Istanbul.
Todorov is the third person to be arrested in the case. The other two are the trade director and a 20-year-old employee in his TAD Group.
The employee, Kristian Boikov, was charged with a crime against the Republic aimed to cause confusion and fear in the public through a computer offence. He faces between five and 15 years in prison upon conviction. Todorov and his commercial director, Georgi Yankov, were charged with inciting a computer offence.
The three men deny having anything to do with the crime.
The data breach has affected millions of Bulgarians but the authorities said that just under 200 are under a serious risk of fraud due to the nature of the personal data that has leaked.
Last week NRA started a service which enables people to check whether they have been affected. The information that is provided, however, has no details about the nature and scope of the leaked data.

Seven arrested for Child Exploitation in Louisiana, including one former foster parent
BATON ROUGE, La. — Seven men have been arrested for child pornography and other crimes against children, according to Attorney General Jeff Landry’s office.
20-year-old Tomas Gabriel Chox-Lopez, an illegal immigrant residing in Lake Charles, was arrested on 7 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
Chox-Lopez was previously deported and illegally returned to the United States.
43-year-old Byron Brown, of Houma, was arrested on 61 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13. Further investigation revealed Brown to be in communication with a third party in Pennsylvania regarding their mutual sexual interest in children and facilitating the sexual abuse of an identified child in Pennsylvania.
47-year-old Robert Edmondson, of Lake Charles, was arrested on 22 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
37-year-old Mark Keefe, of Leesville, was arrested on 200 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
45-year-old Nera Enrique Moreno Orellana, of Lake Charles, was arrested on 2 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under 13 and 2 counts of possession of pornography of juveniles over the age of 13.
26-year-old George Wannage, of Iowa, was arrested on 14 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
55-year-old Michael Reynolds, of Slidell, was arrested on 51 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, 20 counts of producing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, 2 counts of first degree rape of a juvenile under the age of 13, five counts of molestation of a juvenile under the age of 13, and one count of oral sexual battery of a juvenile under the age of 13.
Reynolds took in foster children and other people in need over many years. More unidentified victims are believed to exist; some abused as children would now be in their 20’s. General Landry encourages anyone with information regarding Reynolds to contact the LBI toll-free at 1-800-256-4506. Callers may remain anonymous.

‘Pink Lady Bandit’ Arrested in North Carolina After String of Bank Robberies
The FBI believes they are responsible for at least four bank robberies.
The first was on July 20 at an Orrstown Bank in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Three days later, a robbery was reported at M&T Bank in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
The next day, the robbers allegedly struck again at a Southern Bank in Ayden, North Carolina.
The last reported robbery was at a BB&T in Hamlet, North Carolina, on Friday.
According to the FBI, the bureau worked with police from Greenville, Ayden, Hamlet, Carlisle and Delaware State to identify the "Pink Lady Bandit" as Circe Baez.
Additional evidence pointed to Moralez as an accomplice.
They were taken to the Pitt County Detention Center where they're both held under a $4 million bond.
So far, they have both been charged in the Ayden and Hamlet robberies. Baez was also charged by Carlisle police.
The FBI reports it's likely that both will be charged by other agencies as well.
According to the FBI, the investigation involved the help of several agencies, including FBI Charlotte, Delaware State Police, Carlisle Police Department, Ayden Police Department, Hamlet Police Department, Greenville Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, FBI Baltimore and FBI Philadelphia.
