Your interpretation of Lilith is spot-on.
Just like the Moon, Lilith moves fast and changes directions (direct/retrograde) quite often so it is very important factor in natal charts, however in transits it can be rather unreliable as aspects are made and broken so quickly. Lilith can be a damn good indicator for crypto-currencies as it deals with the deeper elements of the emotions, as you indicated. I've done very well riding the highs and lows with BTC and LTC. The key is not to become emotionally attached to the outcome.
