I don't entirely discredit Comey working with POTUS, but let's say he wasn't for a long while. If the memos were Comey's idea, it's actually pretty cunning. Because remember he specifically said he leaked the memos to trigger the SC? It's not unreasonable then to say he wrote them to that end, even in January and February 2017. He didn't just wake up the morning after his shitcanning in May and think, "shit, we need an SC to fuck over Trump, how can we do it?" The whole thing was rather Machiavellian. Comey, McCabe, and others would have already been plotting catalysts for impeachment (or worse) for months. POTUS knew this. Though Comey clearly didn't trust McCabe. Neither did RR. Since they both wanted an SC to snatch the investigation from McCabe. Plus, Comey apparently said after he got fired that he didn't have confidence in Rod either. Maybe Comey was teaming up with Mueller behind the scenes as a way around McCabe anyway, like before he got fired. Hence POTUS' emphasis on them being best cornbuds and all. Now I don't know about Rod, but I do tend to believe he's a white hat. It's possible he set Comey and Mueller up while convincing them he was their bitch. But I also see dueling factions at play here. Comey and Mueller vs. McCabe, Strzok, and Page. Rod may have pitted them against each other until POTUS and crew had whatever they needed against whomever. Mueller was told to play ball, so he grudgingly agreed to play ball to save himself...he then might have gone back to bait Comey, McCabe, et al with Rod's help. So it's possible that Comey was on his own beyond a certain point and only flipped then (like when Q started hounding him directly on the board?). Whether this gets him out of serious trouble, I have no clue. But if he hasn't flipped at all...PAIN.
