If it were me I would start with getting your first gold coin (1/4 oz to 1 oz depending on budget), and a tube of 20 or 25 silver ounce coins. Get sovereign coins (versus "generic" rounds or bars). And no need to spend more on "graded" coins or "proofs" when starting out.

There are probably a few big trusted coin dealers in your country that sell online, or you could go to a local coin shop and pay more but get some good advice. Check out 'gold bug' and 'silver stacker' type of forums, and vids on youtube that give info/opinions for noobs.

Aus mint would be a fine place to start. Don't focus on what design is on the coin and just go for whatever is the best price. (meaning nearest to the "spot price" which fluctuates constantly - jmbullion.com/charts/silver-prices)
