so Trumps 2 SCOTUS appointees have strong Catholic ties….both educated in Jesuit prep school, BK is a catholic and it looks a little muddier with NG.

 

This board has shown over and over again that the 'leadership' of the Catholic church is questionable at best, and more close to something akin to a pedophile mafia. I am starting to get a little leery (read concernfagging i guess) about all the appointments. The only comfort i have is that these Judges and justices MUST be better than Shillary picks.

Three of Trumps appointees announced today….not exaxtly home runs.

 

Karin Johanna Immergut

  • Amherst College for undergrad and Berkley for Law School.

  • Was a democrat when she went to work for Ken Starr investigating Clinton. She directly questioned Lewinsky.

  • was Appointed by GWB as an US Attorney and she re-registered as a republican at the beginning of Bush’s 1st term.

  • applied for US District court for Oregon, but ties to Clinton investigation held her back.

As a prosecutor she worked primarily on white collar crime, narcotics. She also worked on Project Safe Neighborhoods, which is listed as a national gun violence reduction initiative.

 

John Milton Younge

  • BS from Boston University, JD from Howard, MS from U of Nevada, Reno

  • From 1985 to 1995, Younge worked at the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, serving as deputy executive director and subsequently as general counsel from 1991 to 1995

  • Since 1996, Younge has been a Judge on the Court of Common Pleas for the First Judicial Circuit of Pennsylvania, where he presides over both criminal and civil cases

  • Originally nominated by Obama to serve as a United States District Judge He received a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on December 9, 2015.[3] His nomination expired on January 3, 2017, with the end of the 114th Congress.

  • Nominated by Trump. Nomination was reported out of committee by a 15–7 vote with the seven negative votes coming from Republicans.

  • BA from U of Michigan, JD from U of Chicago

  • Law clerk, Federal public defender, US Magistrate Judge for Northern District of Illionois

  • Member of Gay and Lesbian Bar Association

  • President Trumps first openly Gay nominee, made it out of committee with a 16-5 vote.
