Biden coins new word: ‘Expodentially’

August 01, 2019 02:35 PM

2020 presidential front-runner Joe Biden coined a new word "expodentially," while speaking to reporters on Thursday.

Biden was asked how he planned to get "Obama-level turnout in 2020 as a white politician."

"I proposed increasing from $15 billion to $45 billion a year for at-risk schools, Title I schools, has to be spent. And we challenge children, black or white, poor children and black children and Hispanic children, they can do as well as anybody else given the chance," he began.

Biden continued, "That’s why I insist there be absolutely 3, 4 and 5-year-olds having preschool, not a choice. We know the numbers. Look, we have great universities here. Find me a university in this state that doesn’t say that the education departments point out that if you provide 3, 4 and 5-year-old's genuine education they don’t increase their chances expodentially, expodentially."

Based on context, it was clear he meant the word, "exponentially."

Biden, who has been known to make gaffes in recent years, made multiple during Wednesday night's presidential debate.

In his closing argument, the former vice president incorrectly warned that "eight more years of Trump," would "change American" fundamentally. Trump can only serve a maximum of six and a half more years and that's if he gets reelected. Then, Biden said, “go to Joe30330 and help me in this fight,” as a way to conclude his argument. But, he meant to acknowledge on Thursday that he meant to say "text" Joe to 30330.
