the self-destruction of the Dem Party will be a positive thing at first,
but over the long term we don't want to be a one-party state led by the GOP. One-party states have been tried in many countries, but they never work out.
perhaps, we end up with a true multi-party system where there are five or six major parties and they have to build coalitions in Congress. that would be the best outcome IMO.
