So, I'm gonna just bring up that there are shadier nonprofits that exist than the Red Cross.

I should know about shady nonprofits as I worked for one.

For any of those interested,

The non-profit I used to work for was a "United Cerebral Palsy" branch in the Northern Bay Area.

The jobs there were mainly to either shred paper or sort paper to be shred, while the others worked in electronics disassembly, sorting all the hardware to be sold in bulk (save for the hard-drives. Those would either be destroyed or wiped) to buyers from various places.

The stated goal of United Cerebral Palsy is to "Research Cerebral Palsy", but they put no time or effort into cerebral palsy research at all, but instead into the shredding, disk wiping/destruction and disassembly of computers.

How they got contracts for trash from the nearby "Kaiser Permanente" and "IRS" centres, I'll never know. If I'm to place my bets, the latter might've been having to do with NAID certification.

I would've put it in the past thread, but these threads go a mile a minute.

>American Canyon

>Napa County

Yep, that's part of the North Bay area, as far as I see it.

The other thing I noticed from working there (I've now left, and am collecting recycling from trash cans to sell to Recology instead, making double doing that than working at that cesspool)

was that service there come at a cost.

Read: you pay to dispose stuff with them, and they make money off of recycling made by the employees and the parts that would've been waste otherwise.

The other way they make money is through thrift shops in Fairfield. I got fired for daring to ask about the women behind the curtain.

>Fairfield is near Jelly Belly, iirc?

That is the

CITY OF

the Jelly-Belly factory.

There's also a Calbee factory there, as far as I know (they manufacture Shrimp chip and "Snapea Crisps" for America, whilst importing the same brand of potato snacks from Japan).

Of all the towns in the North Bay, Fairfield's "Florida" when it comes to bad news.

Expensive housing, expensive materials, scuzzos on the street, and people with little to live for.
