Brittany Ann Watts and Representative Eric Michael Swalwell were married Oct. 14 at the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse in Oakland, Calif. Nancy E. O'Malley, the Alameda County district attorney, who is also a deputy marriage commissioner, officiated.
Mrs. Swalwell, 32, is the director of sales for the Ritz-Carlton resort in Half Moon Bay, Calif. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Her parents, Dr. Kathryn L. Watts and Dr. H. William Watts III, are both dentists with practices in Columbus, Ind., where they reside.
Mr. Swalwell, 35, is a Democratic member of Congress who represents California’s 15th district and is the senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Subcommittee on the Central Intelligence Agency. He graduated from the University of Maryland, where he also earned a law degree. His previous marriage ended in divorce.
He is a son of Vicky J. Swalwell and Eric N. Swalwell of Discovery Bay, Calif. The groom’s mother is an administrative assistant at Chevron in San Ramon, Calif. His father retired as the police chief of Algona, Iowa, and later worked as an independent threat-assessment and fraud consultant to retail companies in Northern California.
The couple were introduced in September 2015 by mutual friends whom the groom had set up 12 years before.
