I was a smoker for 45 years, finally ended up in the hospital with lungs full of infection for 10 days on IV antibiotics. Took me months before I could walk from one end of the house to the other without having to sit down and catch my breath. Followed up every six months with a pulmonologist, they told me I had COPD and whould have to live using inhalers, told me if I ket on smoking it would kill me in short order so I went cold turkey. That lasted a year and I started smoking again, within a week it was hard to breath. I had tried to quit many times before over those 45 years, gum, meds, patches and every time I went back to smoking so I tried vaping and it worked. A year after vaping on my 1 1/2 year visit with the doc he orders a new CT scan of my lungs, and BTW I stopped having any breathing problems and stopped using the inhalers without the doc knowing. When the scan came back he called me in, thinking there was bad news, maybe they found a growth or something, I braced myself, but to my surprise and to the docs my lungs were completely clear, he was very surprised and impressed, he showed them to me. That was seven years ago, I've been vaping heavily the whole time, enjoying my vape right now. I no long have to go for follow up visits, I have zero problems breathing and no abnormal coughing.
Maybe I'm just lucky? Kind of doubt it because I belong to the biggest vaping forum and I have not seen anyone post they have problems, but I'll admit, it's a huge forum and tons of post a day and I can't read them all but if someone posted about vaping causing them problems it would be talked about widely there.
All I can say is this is my experience and as far as I'm concerned vaping saved my life.
I would urge you, please don't sway someone into not trying vaping to stop smoking, let them try it, it just might save their life. How would you feel if they ended up dying from cancer and never tried vaping? Watch the movie, "A Billion Lives", please watch it.
