gimp quick guide.

Create background layer/image

Right click layeradd alpha channel(if not already alpha)

Create Text layer with what you want imposed.

Select all text, Right click Path from Text.

Main Menu: Select From Path

Go to Background layer Press DELETE.

Hide Text layer

Save as PNG
