Physics…it don't work that way.
Guy doing vid, concentrating on canopied area. Normal instincts in high stress situation, people get 'tunnel vision'. He would have been intent on the canopied area only, and not have seen the woman blocked by the truck from his view, out of his peripheral vision.
But…he purposely turns at just the right moment so his camera can record it the turns away and ignores a 'supposedly dying woman'.
